Iowa Cats Dance Company presentation of The Nutcracker December 15th, 2024. I was there to shoot video of the 1:00 & 4:00 performances. This is the second year I've worked for ICDC and it is always a joy to watch their performances and recitals. Monique & Harold Paine Wedding Day, December 27th, 2024: Iowa State Capitol Building, Des Moines. It was a rainy day, but the Capitol was open and made a beautiful and historic location for a wedding. The short ceremony took place in the Law Library, just the bride, groom, officiant, Brian and myself. The Law Library is made of a variety of materials, including cast iron, marble, tile, and stained glass; it is an incredibly intricate and inspirational setting. Brian and I shot photos/video for an hour and enjoyed every minute of it.

I shot a wedding in Milford, IA just south of Spencer, IA. This is sunset on Saturday, 09-21-24 and then at Arnold's Park, Lake Okoboji on Sunday morning. It was cold and windy Sunday, so no one was around. What a beautiful area with lots of really nice homes.

Wedding Day: Leah Jo Dix & Dakota Howard, August 31st, 2024. The wedding was at Debbie's Celebration Barn in Oskaloosa, IA. What a great location for a great wedding celebration. The girls got ready downtown next to a really fun alley then we hit the city park and then off to Debbie's for an incredible day. Congratulations to the happy couple!!

My new lens for astrophotography arrived Wednesday but it was too hazy to shoot the heavens. Last nigh was a bit hazy, but I had to try out my new lens. There is so much light pollution, even out in the country from small towns dotted around the county. Seems like there is still smoke in the upper atmosphere, things should look sharper. You can see my and my tripod shadow from a street light over 200 feet away in the first photo.

Jennifer Hyde & Thad Oppenheim Wedding Day. June 5th, 2024 at The Des Moines Botanical Center. Lots of clouds and some wind but the rain held off and we had a beautiful sunset. These two are perfect for each other; it was an honor to photograph and shoot video of their special day.
