Little update action...I've been asked a few times where all the fall walleye pics are at😂 but in all honesty the water isn't cold enough for me really to be that interested and we have been busy getting after the critters 🔥 I'm finally down to one kiddo that is a youth hunter so we have been putting in the work on the pesky deer. Cobia has laid down 4 tasty Doe so far and the freezers are getting full.
Dove season was a slammer and the ducks have been playing as well for the most part. Eider pup has well over 100 retrieves this year and we are off to the races. Hopefully we settle into some cold weather so we can enjoy chasing everything. Also, we have been landing some big flatheads finally on the fall artificials. That should only get better as well. I can't post pics of those yet until the bite is done..but here's a few pics from the season change up.
Watching these 2 boys grow up to be successful outdoorsmen is bittersweet a smidge...i dont want them to grow older...but i also want them to go find me big walleyes, piles of ducks....and big deer on thier own for the old man😂.one hell of a show though!

It's that time of year again and the gears will be changing, shifting into hunting season. It's bittersweet but it's about that time.
I will still be doing a few fall runs for guys who want to get out, as well as a small window for big flatheads on plastics. We are back to drought conditions so I'll only be running the mud rig for river trips. I may do some fall crappie stuff on the lakes pending how the hunting is going. Other than that, I appreciate all the people who came out to fish with me this year. Managed to put a pile of fish in the boats this year and fill a lot of freezers for folks!. Ice season will be here before ya know it and I'm looking forward to getting some guys out on the ice for sure!. So keep an eye out for openings this chilly season.

Feels good to roll up to a dozen cat fisherman using bait and not catching much, then proceed to throw artificials and completely hammer cats🤷‍♂️ Gave away 2 keeper walleyes to a kid with a killer Pink Floyd shirt... and got a handful of drum also.
The kicker was Cobia sticking a pig. Didn't get to see her for about 4 minutes then she surfaced and I honestly thought he hung a blue cat😂 after some shenanigans, she slid into the drop net fairly quick and we got her up. Just shy of 18lbs. That's a big chanel kitty and and absolute hammer for pitching artificial.

Took a much needed break from the walleyes and decided to hunt down some fat river slabs. Wasn't long and we found them. Mixed in with the slabs we managed to pull 5 black nose crappie out as well. I'm sure we could have caught more if we had stayed but we bounced around a bit. Broke a rod, caught some smallies and called it a day.

Matt lives in Chicago and was coming in town to see his girlfriend Lisa this wknd ..after chatting a couple days I gave him the low down, as I usually don't guide on wknds if I can avoid the people 😂 explained that it wasn't a lights out bite because of the heat and a lot of smaller fish are in the system right now but He didn't mind and just wanted to get on the water. So we gave it hell and got them some meals for the next few evenings. Piles of smallmouth right now also...almost a nuisance at times..but fun as always. Whites are still getting active as well. All in all we kept a few nice ones and some smaller ones. They all eat the same and everyone has their own size preferences. Good times.

We decided we both could use a few to eat this weekend so we went on the hunt tonight. New turf, old school tricks...same results.
We fell back into our old rhythm like two peas in a pod. Scrambling for the next and hooks in fingers😂 probably boated close to 40 walleyes and kicked back some nice ones. Perfect eve trip.

Got to hang out with the legend today. People fear him and labs obey him! All we needed was 5 to make him happy 😂 Got it done and release quite a few fish. Top water action is heating up also, so it may be time to start running some trips for the spunky white bass and hybrids.

Today I had Scott from Pennsylvania and his father who's 82 years young from IA city on the boat. We had been planning this trip for a while now and finally made it work. They wanted to do a walleye outing and get just enough for a few dinners. I would say we all had one hell of a time on the water. Great guys and I made 2 new friends for sure. Caught a pile of fish. Kept all sizes for them because it was about the meat and the experience and not just trophy fishing. Now matter how old you are, or how slow you may get around. I'll find a way to get ya on some fish!

I may have this Friday open for Cats or Walleyes. If anyone is interested shoot me a message. Cats are going good. I have not been targeting walleyes for the last few outings, but I'm sure I can find some if need be.

Another banger today for a fun afternoon on the water. Finally some slammer females have started to show up in a few spots. I had Jason and Marcus reeling in the piggies. Jason lives in the Philippines and I've had him on the boat before chasing white bass while he was here last time on vacation...but this time we switched it up a little.
Decided to hit a walleye hole towards the end of the trip and managed to find em pretty quick along with some donkey smallmouth action. I don't often do multi species but Jason said his wife would love a few walleyes to fry up, so mission accomplished all the way around the board!

Happy Father's day to all them dad's keeping those kiddos in line and in the outdoors! This morning we had a heart thumper, lost and donkey at the boat. Hook photo in the comments😬 I'll be switching over for a bit to white bass and cat drift trips the beginning of July also. Great way to stock the freezer or just get some action.

Kicking back pigs is a rare sight on the river. We try to get em back if they are 20" and over. Hopefully one day the DNR will add a length minimum and slot for walleyes and hybrids. I would like to see it also dropped to 4 fish for walleyes and drop the panfish down to 10. We have a good fishery but it could be really awesome if we had some better regs🤷‍♂️

Last minute opening for tomorrow morning/ early afternoon. If you want in, shoot me a message! This would be a walleye/scout trip.

UPDATE: FRIDAY IS FULL. I only have tomorrow (Thursday) open now. Spot #1 is loaded. On to spot #2. Im open now all day tomorrow and again Friday morn and early afternoon. Message me if there's any interest.

BC north end was loaded this morning with post spawn fish. Most fish came on whopper ploppers and a handful on tungsten and waxies.

Live from the lake!...It's still fire for eater specs ..Keep an eye out for a possible opening tomorrow if we decide to fish this same lake. Please do not message me looking for couch info. It's becoming extremely terrible. The fish are all over...people just need to put in a little work. I promise, its not that hard. (Note, we are only keeping fish today for a great family who don't have the opportunity to fish alot in the winter)
