It was a fun paint filled day with Gridiron Football 🏈 Club and their supporters! Thank you, Arlington Event Center for always have such a great space for us to spread out and paint! It always amazes us by how the same set of instructions are interpreted so differently. Check out all the paints from today- they are all so goood!!

That’s a wrap … we close out our Black River Lodge Season 2023 paint today. We had a beautiful day- nice and cool to paint!

We are thankful for the owners of BRL for inviting us down every summer season. This place takes you back to a time of peace and ease. We look forward to it every single year and we are already looking forward to 2024. Ashley heads back to school this week and is also at the helm for her inaugural volleyball season at De Soto High School! She knows her stuff and we hope if you are in the area you will come to root on the Dragons 🐉 !! Kim thankfully retired and is not heading back to school-but is planning a wedding while building the venue for it! Kim is a tad bit nervous as it’s under 60 days until her daughter gets married on their farm. Prayers are welcome!! Berkshire Ridge will be open for couples to tour in late October… after the wedding!

Summers winding down and we only have 1 more paint party at Black River Lodge… wish it didn’t have to end…. So today we paint! And that we did! We have grown close to a particular family this week and it is just so so awesome to catch up! Love this week and I even had time to make some coasters! Check out all the amazing talent in this group!! The river was absolutely beautiful today!!!!!

Last Tuesday’s paint was a rainy one and there is something super special about a rainy day at the already laid back feel of Black River Lodge. I just love that place and the people and families who make it special! We had fun while it rained and these coasters are super cool! Loving the adult water color too!

🎶 Rain is a good thing 🎶 Rain makes for a perfect paint morning! Black River Lodge whether rain or shine is simply beautiful and refreshing to the soul. I was telling a mom this morning how a family told their kids they only had room for one vacation that summer- and they asked them if they would rather go to Disney World or Black River Lodge and the kids without hesitation said Black River Lodge. The mom said they gave their kids the same choice this summer and her boy who is 9 was over playing ping pong 🏓 . She hollered over to him the same question but inserted beach 🏖️ vs BRL and without skipping a beat he said Black River Lodge. Then she said- what about Disney World and again without hesitation he said Black River Lodge. It’s so much more than just a beautiful location- it is a deep rooted family tradition that brings people back to a simple fun loving way to live… even though it may be for just one week out of their year- those weeks are their most precious treasured memories that will last a lifetime from generation to generation.

Black River Lodge July 11th paint! What a gorgeous morn for a paint! Check out these final products… the kid lead painter/photographer was pretty preoccupied with the big group of littles- so not many process photos. Their gumption and creativity had me hoppin! 🐰 🎨 💞 An added bonus was seeing our former student/athlete, her precious boy, Knox and her momma! What a great day!

Hi America!! I am so so grateful for this weekly beautiful drive to Black River Lodge- Missouri is gorgeous… but today- Independence Day - propels my gratitude up a level! Thankful for these painters who started their day with us- such talent and so fun! One of our painting teachers has two kiddos currently serving- a special shout out to Cole and Kelsey and all of those who have made sacrifices for us 🇺🇸… sacrifices that aren’t spoken of, sacrifices that many don’t know the depth and sacrifices that service members are so so humble to speak (or not speak) about! Painting on D Gogh wants you to have a 4th full of peace and fun with those you love the most!

Beautiful morning for a paint! The kids are graduating to the adult paint - I’m happy for them, but makes the kid lead paint teacher a bit sad! Seeing them once a year makes for a lot of growth and changes!!! Love our BRL families!!

Such a fun group!! The adults are crushing this water color technique! And the kiddos are having a blast making coasters that will be able to be past down to the next generation and bring back wonderful memories of Black River Lodge!!

We had our 1st paint of the season at Black River Lodge! (June 13, 2023) We did a few new techniques and everyone loved it!! Adults did water color with transfer and color resistant- these turned out incredible!! The kids’ paint we made a set of 4 coasters. The kids had so much fun creating these. Teagan decided she would be displaying hers on her wall! What a creative cute idea!

Happy Happy Birthday, Mindy! We had an absolute blast celebrating with you, your friends & family and pups of course too!! These paintings were so fun and check out the littles (Bristle and Sophie) paint- they crushed it! The drive out to Robertsville was gorgeous!! So much more than painting last night! This is our favorite event of the year with our friends who founded “A Fighting Chance”! Please go like their page and support them! They have many events throughout the year and our paint was jammed packed last night with love, laughter and support. They will have a class soon that teaches how to see the signs of su***de and research that supports how to help give these individuals A Fighting Chance. Both Ashley Daegling and I will be attending one. We are in contact with so many young teenage lives each day of the week- this class could be the reason someone lives. Thank you Caren and Jewel for wonderful night… Camryn would be so proud of you!
Special thanks to Villa Antonio Winery for offering the beautiful space every year! Your food is amazing and of course your wine and now craft beer is delicious too! The outdoor tent was perfect for last night and the weather couldn’t have been better!

Did you Gnome what we were doing last night?

PoDG had a blast painting these cute, sleepy weatherbound gnomes with the Kloss family last night. Great memories were made and the lead instructing painter was out-painted by everyone at the party. Check out the creativity and characteristics all these Gnomes displayed. Thank you, Amy, for a fun filled night.

Raining ☔️ and painting just go together! Fun morning and we so appreciate all our painters this week and all summer at Black River Lodge! Got my yearly hug from Desiree! What a sweeetie!
It’s so sad winding down the season… until we meet again next summer Black River Lodge- we always miss you and look forward to next year. If you ever have a chance you should visit this magical place on the Black River. All who do will tell you it’s refreshing for the soul! 💕

Before this video- Claire posed for a picture with the Black River Lodge sign on her little go cart. See pictures from today’s paint… I helped her get it back on the road and then asked Claire (who is 5) where are the pedals? She looked over her shoulder like I had two heads while seated and reaching around behind her - I hear a click and she maneuvered them hand levers and off she went… I had no idea- I had a green machine and #wepedaled! But this - this is sooo cool!

These twins have been painting with us for years! As we were cleaning up they sat down to play a few tunes! So talented and so kind! At the end of video you will see their two sweet smiling faces!
