Exciting news! Chris and I have moved to the area. That means we'll be making more regular posts of not only the comings and goings in Destin and Holiday Isle but farther east along 30A. We moved into our new abode last Thursday. We spent the afternoon Christmas Day at Grayton Beach then had Christmas dinner at Ocean Club which is located in Tops'l near San Destin. I had Cajun Fried Turkey with all of the fixings and Chris had Grouper Ocean Club. Both meals were very tasty. If you're looking for a special place for dinner this is a good one. For a little extra ambience ask for aquarium seating when making your reservation. , , ,

End of week update. Tile is being laid. That's as much as we know. Sorry no pics yet. We're as curious as everyone to see the progress.

Day 2 progress. Bathrooms nuked. Other than the "unique" wallpaper we found, there was also some crazy engineering - like putting in a shower above a linoleum tile floor and using roofing material for a waterproof barrier. Rest assured these issues are being addressed. We are super excited!

Chris and I want to thank everyone who got to enjoy our place this past year. We feel truly blessed to be able to share our dream-come-true with everyone. While we continue to recover from Hurricane Sally rest assured we'll be back better than ever in 2021. Stay tuned for updates on our progress. Until then here is a shot of our white Christmas.

I said in my previous post that Hurricane Sally was on my mind. Well she must have heard me because she did some damage to our place. As a result we've been forced to cancel reservation for the remainder of the year. Chris and I got here last Monday to inspect the damage and get the renewal process rolling. Because Sally was so devastating to the area, she was like a house guest that just wouldn't leave, repairs are slow in coming. The really sad thing is that a lot of the damage could have either been completely avoided or at least minimized with some regular maintenance. It might be time for some new blood on the Aegean Board of Directors. We'll keep y'all up to date on when we're back in business. 'Til then here is a picture of a very calm if cool Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane Sally is on my mind today. It looks like Destin is getting pounded right now and I’m powerless to do anything. The Aegeandestin.com we**am is down so I can’t keep tabs on things right now. If your in the panhandle region take care.

Chris and I have been dreaming about a place on the beach for so long it seemed as if it would never happen. However, the stars finally aligned and the dream became a reality in April. There was only one small hitch, you may have heard something about it, the Corona Virus Pandemic. Luckily, we found a crack realtor in Kelly Hayden at Scenic Sotheby's who was always on point, whether answering our numerous questions or patiently zooming into small details during our virtual tours of the condo. For us, this has it all especially the fact that our backyard is the white sand and turquoise Gulf of Mexico. We look forward to sharing our place with you.
