On the beach at night? Use red flashlights. Nesting sea turtles and hatchlings get confused by white light.

More ways to help nesting sea turtles:
- Avoid leaving big items on the beach overnight
- Fill in any holes on the beach
- Knock down any sandcastles or structures before nightfall.
- If caught while fishing, DO NOT CUT THE LINE and call FWC at *FWC

What should you do if you see a sea turtle nesting on the beach??

1️⃣ Keep your distance! Stay BEHIND her and at least 50 feet away!
2️⃣ Be quiet
3️⃣ DO NOT use any flash photography, videography, or flashlights UNLESS they are 🔴RED🔴 turtle-friendly flashlights!
4️⃣ Do not touch her
5️⃣ Call the FWC Wildlife Hotline: 888-404-3922 or the Sheriff's Office Non-Emergency Hotline: 850-651-7400
