Happy Black History Month! ✊🏾❤️💚🖤

Today is the first day of Black History Month! Did you know that this month’s celebration was started by the historical figure Dr. Carter G. Woodson! In 1926, Dr. Woodson started what was known as “Negro History Week” the first week of February due to this month having both Fredrick Douglas & Abraham Lincoln birthdays. From there it later expanded to be celebrated the whole month and that’s what we have today! He was also the first Black man to create a scholarly journal publication called “The Journal of African American History” formerly known as “The Journal of Negro History” that shows the true history and excellence of Black History. This month please celebrate and uplift Black culture and you can do so by supporting Black owned businesses like myself! And remember that we are Black and very proud!!! ✊🏾 Say it loud 📣
