When we're little and growing up the world seems so big.
There was something hugely, magical about how vast and wide the world seemed to us.
All the paths and roads just seemed to go on forever.
Nothing was scary, only seen as yet another trail to be journeyed and discovered. Even the darkest of tunnels and spaces were full of surprises and possibilities. It could be a dragons cave where we could slay a beastly dragon, It could be a portal leading to another dimension where bright lights lit everything up and everyone floated around like space, it could be a far away land with dancing and all our favorite treats to eat, where everyone just partied everyday....
Our imagination and wonder was limitless.
Our creativity was infinite and our hearts were so light and kind we only understood that their could be great adventures ahead of us.
We were only familiar with the excitement of learning and knowing more.
We were only happy and ready to go anywhere at anytime.

Then what happened?
Did life strike us down?
Did we lose our sense of wonder?
Did the bills and responsibilities and inescapable tasks hold us hostage?

What has really happened to our love of the world?
Nothing.

It's still there.
Childhood wonder and interest in adventure never dies.
It's an essential part of our soul that can be put aside but never erased.

Let's guide that part of our soul out from the corner and allow it to add to our happiness again.

The world can't be explored if we never adventure to see what's out there.

Do you find it hard to say goodbye to a good thing?

No-one has to say goodbye to Summer.
First of all it comes once every year so it will come again.
Food for thought?
I mean if you're hungry ;)

What I tend to do while having to let go of something I enjoy like saying goodbye at a friends house or having to put my kids to bed.
I even dislike knowing that eventually after a full tank of gas I will at some point need to get more...

I FOCUS ON, the NEXT BEST THING.
I stress this to a lot of my friends and family and it's what gets me by.

Yes, the party has ended and even after helping to clean up afterwards, goodbyes must be in order BUT we will MEET AGAIN.

Putting the kids to bed might mean an end to giggles, fun and games but it leaves room to continue the excitement THE NEXT DAY.

Getting gas is ALWAYS a pain BUT once it runs out, driving away with that full tank is one of THE BEST FEELINGS in the world as it makes me feel like my horizon has BROADENED again and that, my friends is an award in itself!

Summer must end but the excitement and the future adventures don't have to.

We can still Travel and that's the part about travel is that we can LITERALLY TRAVEL at ANYTIME.
This is a freedom and a privilege, to be able to do so.

Taking advantage of the opportunity is a small and easy thing to do.
It's the least we can do to give ourselves a break and the ability to recharge while we're away from the stresses of our everyday schedules and routines.

So let's go travel and look forward to the next best thing....FALL IS COMING as is the wonderful, exciting, fun and adventurous HOLIDAY SEASON they are both quickly approaching.
So why not travel?

Travel in Fall and Adventure in the Winter because...
distance makes the heart grow fonder. ;P

My life has been a series of deep understandings and challenging truths as I'm sure a lot can relate.
The hardest one I have been up against is the realization of just how short life is,
the fact that tomorrow is never promised is almost shocking.
Fear is only a challenge in itself and should not be labeled as a limit or restriction.
Some days it's hard to fight back when your fear or anxiety takes over.
I'm slowly starting to see that the best way to go up against both fear and anxiety of life being so short, is to....... LIVE.

LIVE HARD,

LIVE WELL.

LIVE and leave those you love with memories and stories to carry on your legacy.
FRAGILE....where events make life a little more easy to break or a possibility of shortening a potential longer life.

There are so many different ways individuals tend to feel these circumstances come with but my favorites are STRENGTH and HOPE.
Poise never hurts either.
I have known many who suffered tremendously and no one even knew they struggled after and during:
Terminal illnesses
Car accidents
Freak accidents
Work accidents
Simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

There is no say in just how long any one has in this beautiful world but the best way to deal with this truth is to LIVE as best you can.

Travel!

The purpose of this project is to find average, extraordinary, fun, sad, bored, happy, everyday individuals and show them that travel is an option.
We want to explain why traveling with Intertrips is a great opportunity.
I wish to take everyday events and turn them into relatable stories to both understand and create inspiring reasons and motivation to travel.
Without excitement, or unexpectedness or even some adrenaline life will seem to always be lacking.

The other day a little one in my life got sick.
It was their first time,
*to say it kindly....
not being able to hold whatever was upsetting their stomach down. They were very scared and confused and kept saying
"My insides are coming out! My insides are coming out."
As I tried to console them and explain to them just why and what was going on the best I could, the phrase
"My insides are coming out." did tickle my funny bone and as I tried not to laugh while rubbing their back....

I took a deep breath to prepare me for the unexpected changes the circumstance had brought to my day.

One little thing happened and it literally created quite a series of changes that I had to be ready and be flexible about.
I had calls to make, blankets and sheets to wash clothes to change the list goes on and on.
All because of this unforeseen illness.
The day settled down and after the Dr. appointment, the medicine distributions, nap time finally came into play.

In between bouts of cleaning, disinfecting, making sure the little ones were as comfortable as could be I had a minute to sit down and breathe and just thought, *my ENTIRE DAY was TURNED AROUND because of one little incident and instead of being stressed and upset and filled with anxiety I took a deep breath from the very start, and that right there told me everything was going to be okay.

My day may have took a different route than it normally would have but my world did not stop.
A bad situation was only improved by the decisions I had made and was able to adapt to what was happening.
Because of my ability to be flexible a lot of good came out of it.
If I didn't have that flexibility I would have missed out.
Missed out on knowing how to deal with such an event for next time,
missed out on being their for someone special,
I would have missed out in this experience, in this opportunity to improve a bad situation.

THIS, THIS IS WHAT IT'S LIKE TO TRAVEL.

It's understanding that the chance won't happen if we don't take it.
It's realizing the tickets won't be bought unless we purchase them.
The time won't be invested if we don't make it a priority
and we will never see what rewards might be presented if we are never flexible.

Funny thing about flexibility, it LITERALLY means ABILITY TO CHANGE IN UNFORSEEN SITUATIONS.

Work will still be there if you take some time off and if not, adapt,
Your family and friends will still be there when you get back and if not, adapt,
You can still make the money back that you had spent and if not, adapt.

Look at where this amazing world is today and all the improvements and changes that have been made due to humans abilities to adapt.

We have to be flexible and sometimes this means being spontaneous.
Sometimes flexibility could mean taking chances.

Unexpected occurrences are inevitable.
and we can never get more out of life, without flexibility and our willingness to take chances.

Don't miss out on a good opportunity.
I would take advantage of it now.

China occupy 3.7 million square miles of earth surface area, and it has 707 cities. For me, I probably only travel to around 2% of them, which is already a lot to me; Unfortunately, I cannot recall about 80% of them from my conscious memory because I was only 3 or 5 years old when it happened. Therefore, a question come to my conscious mind that "Is it more beneficial to travel as a child with very little or no memories about trip happened before or to travel as a teenager/young adult with shareable memory?"
In general, Traveling is always beneficial for everyone because it explains what Hegel said“ What is rational is real and what is real is rational." For me, I would choose the second because I am actively absorb what is new or shareable to me even if I only could only sleep in a motel. Additionally, I can create the memory in my way because it's going to be more adventurous and the most impactful experiences can happen when you least expect it. However, if you were seeking for a high physical quality trip, then travel as a child is not a bad idea. (p.s. The situation above is based on if you had financial worries as a young adult like me)

Experience Economy, which is defines as "an economy in which many goods or services are sold by emphasizing the effect they can have on people’s lives.” Experiences are their own category, just like “goods” and “services.”" This idea immediately catch my attention because I would like something unique and shareable for myself when I was planning my solo or family trip.

"The most impactful experiences can happen when you least expect it, in destinations that have been deemed dangerous or unseemly." It is very true, however, this is where most of my arguments starts with my parents or friends during the trip because we all wants to have the experiences that will hold the most interest for us, even if they sit outside of the theme or structure of the trip we discussed before departure.

After a few trips with my parents or friends, I realized that something experiential just means an unexpected or untraditional experience to that person. By acting as guides and subverting expectations, I learned on the fly how to become more indispensable to people who traveled with me.

Story Time:

***HOLD MY HAND!***

My first trip to China had actually been my first International experience.
Talk about far from home.

Imma bring a little humor to your day.
(figuring if I can laugh about this... well, maybe someone else can too).

I live in California, in a small town population of around 50,000.
So... China, with a population of ~ 1.411 BILLION in (2020), was a little bigger than what I'm used to.

During my tour I had a few hours of leisure time and I wanted to go check out a store.
I knew where to meet and when so I wasn't nervous about getting back with my group.

The only thing was that this store was across the street.
*no biggie right??

I was in Beijing during the tour at the time and figured:
(Hey the store is real close to the hotel so I GOT THIS!).

It just so happened that driving, pans out a little differently in Beijing China.
I wasn't quite sure about the walk signs or lights as I felt like although a light seemed Red cars were still moving.
Maybe I was just completely out of the loop in regards of just WHEN TO CROSS the street.
I noticed a group of locals all just taking that initiative to go, started to cross.
I figured I'd walk with them...(power in numbers right??)

So here I am walking but the cars were still going, the busses, cars, no form of transportation really stopped!
I could not see a straight line to the other street that I was trying to get to.
The group of people I tried to stay close to and cross with, all seemed to take their own way in-between and around the cars that were slowly yet continuously moving.
I tried making eye contact with the drivers
but all drivers had their eyes glued to the cars in front and around them and that didn't seem to work.
I was only half way to the other side of the street then the honking started and my brain seemed to have flatlined for a split second because my first reaction was to run to the closest individual and grab their hand. (a 31 year old woman looking for a hand to hold to cross the street)...

Well I grabbed this random strangers hand and held on for dear life.
He never even stopped.
He looked at me with a puzzled expression for a split second, probably noticed I was a foreigner and just kept right on walking, allowing me to hold his hand.

So thanks to the kind local who probably thought I was very odd for grabbing his hand in the middle of the street as we completed the excursion to the other side.

Maybe next time, I'll ask my tour guide or a tour buddy to come to the store with me if I have to cross another big street.

After that experience I used my leisure time sticking with the friends I had made on the tour and still had a blast.
I guess I've got to muster up some more courage to cross those highly busy, loud and quick streets in Beijing, China.

It's definitely my goal for next time!
