We are located at 297 Main Street in Dillwyn Virginia. Ernie and Tammy married on September 3, 2016 after dating for four years. Ernie followed in his father’s (Howard Pyle Sr) footsteps growing up and entered the lumber industry 29 years ago. Ernie has served in many capacities in the hardwood industries. After many years of hard work and dedication, Ernie decided it was time to take a leap and t

hat’s when Southern Pyle Lumber, LLC emerged. Tammy has 21 years of experience with State Government experience particularly in the Human Resources field. Ernie introduced Tammy to the hardwood industry in March 2017. She focused on domestic sales and secured several large customers within the United States. She was then asked to include international sales in Vietnam and travelled to Vietnam in 2018. She also travelled to Canada in 2018. We started preparations February 1, 2019 at our “SAWMILL”. Over the past two months, we have updated the office, shop and sawmill. We started receiving logs on April 9th and the final repairs were completed on April 13, 2019. We will begin producing products on April 15, 2019. Products include: Hardwood Lumber, Hardwood Timbers and By-Products (Dust, Chips and Bark). We also produce pine lumber and sawdust (bedding). Currently, we have four full-time employees. Ernie and Tammy live in Meherrin, Virginia. They have 4 children; Trey Pyle (Sally), Erin Newman (JR), Will Bradford and Mercedes Harding (Chadd). Three granddaughters; Harper Pyle, Teagan Pyle, Paisley Newman and one grandson; Colton Harding. We welcome you to our business.

Southern Pyle Lumber, LLC will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024 through Sunday, July 7, 2024 in observance of Independence Day.
We will resume normal operations on Monday, July 8, 2024.

We currently have the following available inventory:
1"x4"x10', 1"x6"x10', 1"x6"x12', 1"x8"x10', 1"x4"x12', 1"x6"x8' and 1"x8"x8'. This is all rough cut lumber.
We also have some wide lumber 9" - 12".
As always, we have sawdust/bedding and wood chip available.
