Johannesburg Destination Feature ✨ Johannesburg is one of Africa’s largest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. This bustling city offers a wide range of activities, attractions and plenty to do in and around the city including nearby Pretoria. Downtown is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra-modern skyscrapers.
There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. The nearby township of Soweto is Johannesburg’s most popular tourist attraction.

Featured Friday ✨ Explore Medellín, drink hot arabica and seek lost civilizations!
Cityscapes and Caffeine: The promise of gold has fueled many expeditions throughout history, and the Museum of Gold in Bogotá currently has some 55,000 pieces. Spend three days in the Colombian capital before this ten-day countrywide tour moves on to the Coffee Triangle and Cocora Valley. In colonial Cartagena, explore an old, brightly hued, walled city, and conclude in Medellín, a progressive town full of public art and with a fun nightlife.
Pre-Columbian Culture: The huge underground tombs of Tierradentro are decorated in colorful motifs left by a mysterious pre-Columbian culture thriving around the eighth century. Visit the remote site along with San Agustín, where 130 evocative statues comprise the largest grouping of megalithic sculptures in South America. The two sites will introduce you to a little-known ancient cultures.
Novel Pursuits: Walk through the world of Gabriel García Márquez, Colombia’s world-famous literary giant, on a tour through his old stomping ground of Cartagena. See the clock tower that he glimpsed upon his first arrival to the city; off the Plaza Fernandez de Madrid, see the balcony of Fermina Daza’s white house. Taste the sweets at Portal de los Dulces, calling forth Fermina’s bitter rejection of Florentino. Fans will relish this veritable ghost tour.
What to do when visiting Argentina: For the Wine-lover! 🍷
Get immersed in the high-altitude wine world in the Northwest of Argentina. Explore the Andean valleys and their traditions, while tasting exquisite wines with this exclusive multi-day tour!
Colomé is the oldest commercial winery, not only in the Salta province but in all of Argentina. It was founded in 1831 by the last royal governor of Salta, Nicolás Severo de Isasmedi. In 2001 it was bought by the swiss Donald and Úrsula Hess, who planted new vineyards, and strengthened the company, in terms of quantity and quality. Therefore, visiting Colomé is entering a universe that combines history, technology, and art.
Located in the high Calchaquí Valleys at 2,300 meters above the sea, some 25 km away from the historic town of Molinos (Province of Salta in the north of Argentina). Next to the Winery are the Founder’s House, the James Turrell Museum, and the Visitor Center. To get there, you will take RN 40 and then RP 53, which goes west.
Once in the winery, the plantations are visited while a guide explains the winemaking process, which includes grapes from the highest vineyards in the world, located in Payogasta, at 3,111 meters above sea level.
The altitude is one of the most important factors for the development of the vine. The higher the altitudes, the greater the exposure to the sun and the wider the thermal amplitude, which ranges between 20° during day and night. Those factors facilitate the uniform and balanced development of the grapes. Such impact becomes even greater in our Valley because the clear and bright sky contributes to an even higher intensity of the sun. To protect itself from the sun's rays, the grape generates thicker and darker skin, the result will be a wine of great intensity, good color, aroma, and flavor.

Spotlight on Cuisine in Portugal! ✨😍
I feel Portuguese cuisine is underrated on the food scene. I have described it to people as carefully chosen, simple ingredients and recipes that are cooked to perfection. It is not fussy and complicated but still, every single dish we had there was amazing. During our stay, we tried to taste as many dishes as possible with only repeats of our absolute favorites. To maximize our efforts (and mostly because we have very different tastes in food 😉) my husband tried most of the land options while I dove into the sea options. His favorite was the famous black pork from the Alentejo region while my favorite dish was the Octopus (Polvo a Lagareiro) that I had from – absolute perfection! We never tired of the olives, bread, and the popular petisco of codcakes ( Pasteis de Bacalhau) prior to every meal or even just with a glass of wine…..OH…. and the wine…… I can’t pick a favorite there, but we were in no shortage of delicious options everywhere we went!

This may be an unpopular opinion, but we liked Porto much better than Lisbon. While we did have more time in Porto, and only visited Lisbon for 1 day (our last day mind you) so it had a little unfair disadvantage, Porto had a cozier feel to it. While you could definitely get your steps in walking around to see things. It just felt closer and more approachable. It's the 2nd largest city in Portugal, but still more quaint than Lisbon. MUCH cleaner as well and felt like it had a lot more depth and history. 💫 Check out some of the highlights from our exploration in the city!

Take the road a little further from home.. 🎶 From sunrise hikes atop Buffalo Pass Peak to breathtaking Knuckles mountain adventures, our journey in Sri Lanka was nothing short of incredible. 🌄🏞️ We trekked through tea plantations, cloud forests, and lush jungles, chasing waterfalls along the way. 🍃💦 And let’s not forget the mouthwatering memories of our private cooking session with @w15hanthana in-house chef! 🍴In Kandy, we were blessed to witness the mesmerizing ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth, arriving just in time to soak in the spiritual ambiance. 🙏✨Our expedition continued to Tangalle, where we shared our days with graceful peacocks and other wildlife at @anantaratangalle. 🦚🌿 We visited an elephant sanctuary, witnessing heartwarming moments during feeding time and afterward embarked on a safari, encountering Asian elephants and other incredible creatures in their natural habitat! 🐘🐒 We even had an unforgettable encounter with the most adorable monkey and her precious baby. 🐒🍼Sri Lanka, you’ve left an indelible mark on our hearts. 🇱🇰❤️ .
