Today is the day! Christmas Around Town!!! We will have the house open from 9-2 with horse and carriage rides from 10-1. Stop in and take a tour, grab some cider and enjoy a ride around town.

I spent any spare time I had last week organizing, cleaning and getting rid of things in the garage at Vera. It looks so good and I finished it in time for us to start on the carriage house this past weekend. We were able to get it emptied out and the sagging plaster off the ceiling. Now for the clean up!

Several weeks ago we finally had to admit defeat with the last remaining original toilet 😭

The base was cracked and had gotten worse over this last year. It had started leaking significantly, so before it became an even bigger problem we replaced it with a new/old one.

We kept the original toilet along with its twin from another bathroom. Someday if we can find someone to fabricate plumbing parts these art deco thrones 😉 (well the one that’s bowl isn’t cracked) may make their way back into the house.

They truly are so cool! And you can see the original ”plaster etching or scored plaster” behind the tank we removed.

I took a long break but now it’s time to finish.

Scraping, reinforcing, caulking and painting the screens. Then scraping, reglazing (as needed) and painting the windows!
