Down Syndrome Awareness month at its best — last year Elle felt privileged to be a peer tutor in her middle school. She made some incredible friends including her buddy Luke. Even though Elle has moved on to high school she couldn’t help but return for a visit to wish Luke a happy birthday and give him one of our Down Syndrome Awareness tees. While cruising Arches National Park with my family I met Wade. Because of my own daughter Jayne, my connection with people who have Down syndrome is unspoken and immediate—we are like family. When asked which of our primary logo snap backs he’d like, he asked for 2, a grey and white to wear and a black on black backup in case the fish weren’t biting. It’s Personal - The inspiration behind our cause? Meet Jayne - Born with Down syndrome, we wondered about her abilities and future. To our absolute amazement, her grit, determination and heart have carried her to many triumphs astounding and inspiring all who know her. Only a few months after having her femur surgically cut, rotated and plated TWICE, Jayne made her way to the top of the Mt. Timpanogos cave trail. Occasionally she’d pause for a quick yoga pose and a pat on her own back “good job self” but she did it! Jayne is Reigning HER Game and those like her, fuel our passion! A portion of every sale benefits the athletes of the National Ability Center and the Special Olympics - Those who truly Reign Their Game!
