Got back yesterday from Chicago! As a Christmas present to Justice, we took a flight from Dubuque to ORD. This gave me a chance to test out the new airline, Denver Air. Overall pretty convenient and nice. There is construction on their usual gate so you have to take a bus from the plane to the gate which was a bit of a time suck, but not awful.

Justice and I did a food tour of Chinatown with Bobby's Bike Hike. Despite the cold, it was amazing. Our guide Jeff was super fun, had great knowledge on the food and the history of area, and made the tour one of the best we’ve taken. Highly recommend and definitely the best part of the trip!

After the tour we went to see the musical Shucked. It was cute and fun, but I wasn’t a fan of the story.

Sunday morning we hit up the Field Museum so Justice could see ALL things dinosaur. Thanks to lockers at the museum, we were able to go straight from the museum to the airport and catch our flight back to Dubuque.

Just got back from our quick weekend trip to Denver! We went to celebrate Josh’s birthday at the newly refurbished Casa Bonita and also hit up Meow Wolf while we were there.

Emotionally prepping for my next big trip! I’ll be taking a 10 day tour of Thailand (14 with travel days) and hoping to use this bad boy. I’ve done a bit shorter with smaller (10 days in Italy with a backpack), so I have faith I can make it work 🤞🤞

Sorry I ghosted 👻 for a bit! Our stop in Riomaggiore, Italy was a bit chaotic (trouble finding our VRBO in down pouring rain while climbing what felt like a million steps leading to a bit of burnout and exhaustion) but the trip quickly turned around by deciding to cut our losses and head to Venice a day early. When we got home I took a few days to veg, then a few days to get my day to day life back together, and now I’m ready to be back at it a bit! In the meantime, enjoy the photo dump from Riomaggiore and Venice!

Leaving Rome ✔️ On to Florence! Yesterday was an early day with a train to Naples then a regional train to Pompeii. After the tour of the ruins, we went horseback riding then had lunch at a winery 🐴🍷💕

Quick update! I was meaning to post some day one and day two pics but jet lag (and maybe a bottle of wine) got the best of me! We have pretty much wrapped up our Rome portion of our trip and are headed to Pompeii today!
