Did you know that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holiday's?! Cooking is one of my favorite past times! Every year I brine and smoke a turkey for my family for Thanksgiving Dinner, and this year, I thought I would offer my turkey smoking services to my Catfish Charlie's Family and Friends as well. I will light up the smoker on Tuesday, November 26th, you will be able to stop in and pick your turkey up on Wednesday, November 27th. The deadline to place your order will be Wednesday, November 20th. The cost will be $45.00 per turkey (the turkey will range between 16-20 pounds). Fundraiser, Fundraiser, Fundraiser!

We are honored to be hosting a fundraiser in conjunction with the Dubuque Chapter of the Delta Waterfowl Foundation for Retrieving Freedom, Inc. aboard American Lady Cruises on Thursday, June 13th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., with boarding taking place from 5:30 to 5:45. We'd love you have you come early and enjoy a cocktail on the deck at Catfish Charlie's.

Retrieving Freedom, Inc., is a non profit organization that is dedicated to training dogs to serve the needs of Veterans with disabilities and children with Autism.

The dogs start training at 8 weeks and take 2 years to complete the training. They then go through a very extensive matching process to pair each dog with its owner.

The service dogs are trained to pick up on its owners triggers such as, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, and calming the sensory needs in children with Autism.

The service dog will perform a wide range of behaviors in helping its owner with panic attacks, turning on/off lights, pressing handicap buttons to open doors, picking up objects, and so much more.

The cost to train one of these service dogs is $50,000. It is our goal is to get one of these dogs placed in Dubuque.

We hope you can join us in our fundraising efforts. Tickets for the cruise can be purchased at Catfish Charlie's. If you can't make the fundraiser and would like to donate to the cause, we would be very grateful....those donations can be made by cash or check at Catfish Charlie's as well.

We are working with people every day to make individual and group reservations, and getting ready for a busy '24. Unfortunately, American Queen Voyages did recently stop operations, but we are not associated with that company. So, we hope to make reservations for you soon or see you this summer as you make some warm lasting memories!
