Family fun in and around Duck Creek Village: Sledding, Skiing nearby, Central to under an hour to Bryce & Zion National Parks, Kanarra Falls, Cascade Falls, lava caves, fishing, Snowmobiling, ATV, sand caves, and slot canyon tours! I'm a wife and mom of three boys (17, 15, 7), who had the idea of exploring the vacation rental world in February 2021. This past August we took over self-managing, dev

eloped a website in September, and it is our hope to share our home with other families and groups. We love coming to Duck Creek Village. In Fall 2019, we began homeschooling, so it seems natural to want to reach out to other home school families who can travel more freely. Since college (many years ago), I have practiced real estate and loans with my CA Broker license, taught in the classroom as a credentialed teacher, and now I am merging my real estate back ground with education and hospitality industry in owning a vacation rental. I love helping people, and I have done that in all three careers.

It’s been awesome to hear guests loving their stay! I’d love to be out there on our kayak on Navajo Lake or enjoying coffee on the deck. I’m glad we got out there in April to set up our Solo Stove Wood-burning Firepit. We enjoy driving over to Zion- and it’s a tradition it seems to stop just across from Checkerboard Mesa and the guys climb up and take in the view. Hopefully, early September we can go again.

Kanarra Falls, Utah.

You need permits for this hike, which are available online for $12 per person.

Only 150 people are allowed in each day to reduce overcrowding and all its associated issues.

This is about a 4-mile roundtrip hike into a slot canyon with two waterfalls. The hike is fairly easy but does involve walking on rocks in the cold flowing water of Kanarra Creek

Jan 8th, 2023 Bryce Canyon National Park. In just under an hour's drive away from the chalet in Duck Creek Village, we arrived at Bryce Canyon. At around 8,000 feet elevation, the park was covered in snow with amazing views of the famous hoodoos. We visited Sunset Point and hiked down Navajo Loop and back up. The hike is short but has some steep switchback trails. We enjoyed hiking in the snow packed trails and the crowds were minimal.

Zion National Park, Jan 6th, 2023. In about 55 minutes we arrived at Zion’s east entrance from the chalet in Duck Creek Village. Snow covered the upper east side of Zion, but there was no snow by the time we got to the tunnel and down into the valley. We had the rare opportunity to drive into the valley where you typically only have access via shuttle bus. Shuttles don’t run in Jan/Feb, and visitors can drive their cars down into the valley.
There were plenty of big horn sheep between the east entrance and tunnel, and the bison were out in the field just a mile before the entrance.

Just in the last week, we heard 43" of snow in our awesome Duck Creek Village, Utah - southern Utah! The snow is still falling! The snow season started with breaking 10 year records and it continues.

Our vacation rental guests before the storm hit enjoyed snowmobiling. We have yet to rent a snowmobile in the village, and it won't happen this winter...one day. Our website www.canyoncountrychalet.com has my contact information and shows all the fun we provide.

We have weekly discounts as well as offer direct booking to save on common travel fees.

Here’s a video from earlier this month when we experienced our first Duck Creek winter and stayed at our place. Callen is sledding down a hill just 5 minutes away… I said no to sledding down our street.

We hiked in snow at Bryce Canyon - open year round with Zion. Brian Head ski resort is only 45 min. away. Duck Creek Village has over 500 miles of ATV and snowmobile trails- rentals right in the village.

We had a great time visiting the chalet the first week of January. There was so much snow. We even experienced two short power outages, but our whole house generator kicked in beautifully and the fun continued. We made it over to Bryce Canyon to see it in the snow and hike a trail down into the Hoodoos. The national parks are opened year round. Wonderful guests are enjoying Thanksgiving and making memories at our chalet. I heard back from our current guests and they are enjoying everything offered at our place plus the snow!
