There have been a few changes to the Lucky Duck this year.

Heading to the beach this summer? Make sure you know about the recent changes to the beach tent regulations.

✔️Pack it in, pack it out: Don't leave chairs, tents, umbrellas etc. between 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. or they may be removed as litter.
✔️Removal from the beach does not mean laying them in or on the dune, under or beside beach stairs, etc. They must be removed entirely from the beach and dune system.
✔️Give lifeguards a clear view: Keep tents 50 ft away from lifeguard stands and beach access points.
✔️ Tent size: Tents cannot be larger than 12x12 ft nor taller than 9 feet. Guy wires can't be longer than the footprint of the tent.
✔️Two tents and/or sunshades may be tied together provided they are perpendicular to the shore. Tents and/or sunshades parallel to the shore may not be tied together nor may they be spaced any closer than 10 feet from each other.
✔️Respect the dunes & wildlife: Leave a 15 ft walkway for emergencies at the dune base and keep your setup 10 ft away from dunes and turtle nests.
✔️Safety first! Make sure all your beach umbrellas and tents are securely anchored.

Things have been happening on the big renovation. Cabinets are in but need some finishing touches, walls have been painted. New flooring is being installed. Appliances get delivered and installed by the end of the week. Here are a couple pictures. Also a throwback to 2003 when we bought the house. Does anyone remember these floral couches?? FYI, I did not pick those🤣

It always gets worse before it gets better!!! Cabinets arrive in a few weeks as well as new flooring. Then all the rest falls in place!! Counters, backsplash, lighting. Two new dining tables are being delivered tomorrow. I put some paint samples on the wall today. Side note, always check colors in the space before painting. The color I thought would be perfect looks terrible in the house! Good news I’ve picked a color and I am meeting with a painter tomorrow.

This is a sight to see!!

A flock of flamingos appear at Nags Head Beach, near the Jennette's Pier ! Now people are headed down from all over NC and some from VA to hopefully see these cool birds. These are the first wild flamingos ever seen in NC
