.parker and spent the last 9 days chasing elk in Montana. It seems like the "No Banana" rule applies to elk hunting, too! It was a great trip nonetheless, and we plan to punch our tags in November!

Caught a 33" tagged lake trout in the Apostle Islands. Reported the tag to the WI DNR and this fish was 22 years old! We usually try and release these bigger fish since they are good spawners for the system, but this one was gill hooked and was harvested to be enjoyed by this angler and his family.

Took a 12-day hiatus from Duluth to the Apostle Islands. A much needed reprieve! Fishing was great, great mixed bags most days and doubles and triples! Biggest brown was 31" and the largest lake trout was 35" lots of smiles and stories were had. We will be in Duluth the rest of the season, but plan on Apostle Islands next year. We've been getting into some nice fish lately. Slow bite yesterday, but got a nice brown and walleye for the couple in the morning. The group today took full advantage of a full day trip! Lake trout, salmon, and walleye hitting the deck. Thursday is available, and have some openings next week. Give .parker a call and let's go fishing!

Learn all about Superior Pursuits Charter Fishing in today’s Tourism Tuesday feature!

Founded in 2016, Superior Pursuits Charter Fishing offers Lake Superior fishing experiences for lake trout, salmon, and walleye, along with private sunset harbor cruises.

The face of Superior Pursuits is Captain Parker Bambenek: A Duluthian who has been fishing Lake Superior since before he could walk. While pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, he spent as much time out on the lake and in the woods as possible – a chance to fish and explore Lake Superior from a new perspective.

On an ice fishing trip in 2012, he had a nearly fatal run-in with a snowmobile; he was left stranded on the ice with two broken legs. Since that accident, he has taken a new meaning to life and decided to follow his passions – fishing is one of them.

Before purchasing his own vessel, Captain Parker worked as a guide and captain for another Duluth charter company and realized it was his calling. Superior Pursuits is his opportunity to share his love of fishing and appreciation for the great natural resources within the Great Lakes. He especially enjoys seeing the excitement that kids have on the boat!
