The rebuilding of the two-tier flower bed at the entrance to Wright Park has finally been completed. Both rounded ends had collapsed over time and were supported by wooden stakes. The west end was rebuilt in fall of 2022 by other Revitalize Dunkirk members and now the east end has been finished as well. Members of the Beautification Committee under the guidance of Mary and Steve Rees executed the work in about 5 hours of effort over two days. Special thanks to Chris and Pete Pinkoski and Kathy and Dan Uszacki

Have you noticed the slight changes in our hanging basket arrangements over the years? Sometimes certain plants can't handle the heat of a dry summer. Others grow too well and overpower the basket. At the end of every summer season our volunteers compare notes and work with Yerico Farms Heritage Greenhouses to tweak the baskets for an even better display the following year.

This project is made possible by our volunteers, our generous donors, Yerico Farms, and the Public Works employees that hang and water the baskets. It takes a team!

The Usual Suspects watering crew unsuccessfully avoided the mid-morning rain while spending one and one-half hours getting the Point Gratiot Revitalize Dunkirk trees watered. Only Al, Ron, Mary, and Steve were available today putting down 10 gallons of water on each tree. The last few trees were done in a brief downpour but the crew survived!

The Beautification Committee of Revitalize Dunkirk recently had a work party at DHS Bicentennial Park. We trimmed, weeded, transplanted, and mulched.

Now we are seeking volunteers willing to water the areas nearest to the sidewalk at the entrance to ensure their survival. No schedule needed, there's no such thing as overwatering in a dry hot summer! Thank you!
