Vision Dysart is in the kitchen baking Holiday treats so you don't have to. Stop in the Brick-a-Brack building every week until Christmas and pick up a bag or two of home made holiday cookies. This week we have Snickerdoodles and Holiday Shortbread. New varieties every week. All proceeds will be used for community projects like the Main Street Pocket Park or repainting the Great Dysart Gorge!

Vision Dysart's latest project is a Pocket Park on Main Street!

Nestled between the Norma Anders Public Library and the Eikamp Insurance building, it will serve as an oasis for weary shoppers, a dining and meeting area or a stage for performances. The covered space will feature seating, planters with foliage, a gallery of historic photographs of early Dysart, free Wi-Fi and dusk to dawn lighting for night owls.

Vision Dysart has reached more than half of our goal through fundraising, grants and donations. Help us bring this much needed space to Main Street. Checks payable to the DDC may be sent to: Vision Dysart Project, Dysart City Hall, PO Box 686, Dysart, IA 52224 or drop off at 601 Wilson St.

Vision Dysart is a subcommittee of the Dysart Development Corporation.

The mission of Vision Dysart is two-fold. One: To identify weaknesses along with the strengths of our community and calculate the needs of current and future residents, Two: To work together, including partnering with other organizations, to initiate and implement inventive new strategies that will contribute to the betterment of Dysart. These strategies are not merely to highlight Dysart as a tourism destination, but also as a great place to live, raise a family, operate a business and engage with the community. We are actively seeking input from the young people of our community to help guide our path forward to best serve the needs of future Dysart residents.
