It has been a great year for Cap’n Denny Lee and I have enjoyed all the people I met this year on the lake. As I get ready to winterize Blue Belle, I look forward to next year and all the great times and folks I will get the honor of enjoying the lake with. Why hire a Captain to pilot your rented boat?

You are planning your day on Table Rock Lake and have rented a boat for the day. Why should you hire a Coast Guard Captain?
1. You get to enjoy the day with friends and family and not worry about the boat, other boaters and obstructions in the water.
2. You don’t have to remember all those rules from your boaters license
3. You can safely enjoy adult beverages
4. Your Captain will know all the best places on the lake
5. Your Captain knows where the restaurants are on the lake
6. You don’t have to worry about docking all day long
7. I have worked boat rentals for four years and the cost of one damaged propeller is often more than the cost of a Captain. And it does happen.

Sorry I missed posting last week but I was enjoying some needed rest by the pool. This week I had two awesome groups who hired me to Captain them while they enjoyed our beautiful lake. They both had a great time on the lake despite the rain on Saturday. I wanted to thank the several groups who hired me this summer because they knew they would be partaking in adult beverages and were caring enough to protect the safety of their friends and others on the lake to not operate a boat while drinking. Job well done and I am humbled that you chose Cap’n Denny Lee.
This weekend is Labor Day so let’s think about a few boating basics for this very busy boating weekend.
1. Be courteous. We are all out to have a great time, so let’s watch out for each other.
2. Be aware of your wake at all times. Watch your distance from docks and other boats. Slow down if you need to prevent your wake from disturbing others.
3. Now is a great time to check your boat for all the required and suggested safety equipment before you head out. Text me if you have questions on what equipment you need.
4. Watch your fuel gauge. Once you pass half tank, time to start thinking about refueling. It is dangerous to run out of fuel as you will have no control over your boat.. When you are getting fuel at the marina, be patient, don’t forget to turn on your blower and tip the dock hand, they are working hard all day in the heat.
5. Be sure to practice the use of your orange skier down flag and don’t forget to remove the flag when you are done with water sports.

Another great week on Table Rock with some awesome families. They have enjoyed cruising the lake, swimming, tubing, cliff jumping and dining at some wonderful, on the water, resturants. I get contacted by a number of people with questions concerning the services I can provide so here are those questions and answers.

If you want me to take you out on my boat, the Coast Guard only allows 6 paying passenger on a personal boat.

If you have more friends, you can rent a pontoon from one of the many marinas on the lake. If you rent a pontoon and hire me be to Captain, we can take upto 12 passengers. I can assist with that rental.

If you want to enjoy your time on the lake without the worry of driving your own boat, I can Captain your boat while you enjoy family and friends and maybe a beverage.

If you just purchased a boat and need help with launching, docking, equipping or driving, I offer a Basic Boater Class. I have assisted many new boaters, kids and spouses feel more comfortable with their boat.

I am located on the west end of Table Rock Lake. It is known as the quiet part of the lake and has much less boat traffic. I just find it more relaxing. Let me know where you are located and we can see what works. This end of the lake is worth the drive.

My boat is a 26 foot deck boat and has plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the lake. I also have on board restroom, large swim deck, a large sun deck for relaxing and front and rear ladders. See my page for many pictures..

My boat, Blue Bell has all the required and necessary safety equipment and most the toys you need for a fun day including noodles, floatation and a tube. We don’t ski, wakeboard or surf. I am also not equipped for fishing. There are number of great fishing guides I can recommend.

There are some great on the water resturants you can visit during your day.

You only need to bring snacks and drinks and be ready to have fun. I provide everything else.
