A big thank you to Sharon McCobb for directing the first annual youth triathlon scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8am at Maidstone Park. I am proud of all the kids who have been training for the 300m swim, 7 mile bike, and 1.3 mile run. And Sharon has done a great job teaching them triathlon basics and getting them psyched. I can't wait to see Tali Rose and her friends cross the finish line. You go girls.

Congratulations to all the folks who made the Swim Across America event such a huge success. The conditions could not have been better, with over 100 swimmers and over $80,000 raised for cancer research. Great job Ocean Rescue

Weather and wave forecast couldn't be better for beginner surfers. Sunny days with knee high waves. It's so different from last July.

summer is in full swing. bay is in the mid 70s and ocean is trying hard to catch up. fun times in the water at different beaches with my children and their friends as well as surf lessons at ditch.

teaching a surf lesson saturday morning at ditch plains the water was so clear. looking down into the water while riding a wave i saw a 3' long striped bass swimming along. i love it when the water is clear like that. it's truly amazing watching them swim. i do have to admit as beautiful as it is, it always makes me think about dinner.

This is going to be a great weekend to teach surfing. Small waves and lot's of sun. Water is finally starting to warm up and summer is right around the corner.

It still amazes me how much fun it can be to longboard on a very marginal day. low expectations equals high fun. i need to find a way to surf more.
