Tried a new (to me) place today in Ellsworth. I loved the atmosphere, beautiful gardens and important messaging. I’m not really a beer fan but I’d still come back here again and again.

This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. Large scale aquaculture farms and the resulting pollutants that they will emit are threatening the pristine waters of Maine, specifically those that surround the treasure that is Acadia National park. In turn, this also threatens the lobstering industry which is key to Maine’s economy and people’s livelihoods. Help us fight off large aquaculture industries that are trying to establish themselves in Maine. Maine currently does not have the appropriate laws to protect itself.

If you’ve ever visited Maine, you know how special, pristine and beautiful it is. We need to be good stewards of this land and waters and economy. Large aquaculture sites proposed for our beautiful but tiny Eastern bay will stress the environment as well as impede the lobstering industry. The long term impact of these sites really isn’t known. The additional waste, increased boat and road traffic to service these sites is yet another stress on this area.
