Little bit of a tricky bite this morning. Tons of boats all over the place. We did a lot of looking around and found a nice body of fluke to work with away from the fleet. We picked 3 quality keepers and a good amount of shorts. The biggest fish was about 4lbs. Overall a nice morning with a great group. Thanks guys!

Well we have quite the fluke story after today.

We fished around a good majority of the bay, picking fluke at every stop. On the “last drift” I felt a good bite. My line was wrapped up with Brian’s line as my rod doubled over. Brian opened his bail and Mike grabbed the net while I worked in the fish. The fish came up and jumped completely out of the water and OVER THE NET. it hit the water and dove down hard, spiting the hook in the process. A second later Brian’s rod doubled over, and sure enough there was the fish. This time I opened my bail, and Mike scooped the fish perfectly with the net. We’re not completely sure how it all happened, but we think initially the fluke grabbed both of our rigs at the same time. By far the craziest thing I have ever seen. Oh and did we mention that it’s currently the biggest fish on the boat for the season? 5.6lbs

Who says you can’t catch fish in an east wind?

Started out the day in absolutely brutal conditions. East wind gusting every bit of 30mph. We were going to call it quits 10 mins after we started. On the way home we decided to tuck in and try one more quick drift. We plucked a keeper right away so we decided to try our luck. The wind dropped out just enough to manage a drift and it was game on! Loads of short life came on the boat, along with the biggest fish of the season so far at 5.25lbs! Great job Mike! You know it’s going to be a big fish when it takes drag 4 times. Great trip with a great group!

Excellent fluke bite today! We had action throughout the whole trip. Lots of short life. Brian had a fantastic day today, putting 4 keepers in the boat! Back at it again tomorrow!

That’s how it’s done! Had a better showing of fish today. slowly but surely we are seeing an improvement. This fish jumped clear out of the water next to the boat. We kept our cool (sort of) and landed the fish after it took its leap! Johhny finished out the day with his limit of Moriches bay fluke!

Once again the elements were against us today. Stiff west wind with the tide had us drifting close to 2 1\2 knots at times. We covered just about every area we could and then some. Tom had the fish of the day, weighing in a touch over 5 pounds. Big thanks to the crew for sticking it out with me in less than ideal conditions today. We’ve been fishing hard this spring, and we will continue to do so until we find the results we are looking for!

Lots of fun today with an awesome group! Blue fish blitz kept us busy for a while, at one point every rod on the boat was hooked up! Great job guys!

Tough pick today in the wind and rain, but we fished through it. Tried quite a few spots but unfortunately the water temps were very chilly and the conditions were not ideal. Mahalo regular Mike had the catch of the day. Thanks guys! Back at it again soon.

Did some exploring today. Fished some new spots and a few spots I haven’t fished in a while. We started off the morning with an awesome bluefish blitz. All the blues you wanted. The fluke bite had a slight improvement today with some short life and 2 for the table. Over all a fun and productive day!
