That’s officially a wrap for the 2024 fluke season. A huge THANK YOU to everyone that fished on Mahalo this year! This season was spectacular! We had more fluke on the boat than I can count. Numerous full boat limits. Many fish in the 3-5lbs range. Mahalo regular Lyndsay had many fish over 5 pounds this year. Brian put over 40 fluke on the boat in 1 trip. Taj landed an absolute beauty weighing in at 6lbs in 4’ of water. Big congrats to Jonathan for putting the biggest fluke we have seen on Mahalo, coming in at 6.53lbs! We will start targeting striped bass now. Looking forward to a great fall!

We had a crazy fluke bite today. Kept 4 quality fish and had a bunch of throw backs. Not bad for 3 guys for a quick morning trip. Biggest fish was right around the 5lbs mark.

Picked up a couple of nice fluke yesterday! Jesse grabbed a 4 pounder and Julia caught her first keeper fluke in the dark in 3 1/2’ of water. Lots of fun. We even got her on the fillet table!

It was quite the weekend. Big thanks to everyone that came out! Lots of fish over the last few days. Had to work for them but once we found them it was non stop action!

A little change of scenery last night. An absolutely beautiful ocean allowed us the opportunity to fish the reef for a few hours. Plucked some fluke and seabass and got one of the best sunsets of the season.

Big thanks to everyone that made time for Mahalo this Labor Day weekend. We had some fishing trips and a sunset cruise to wrap it all up. September is one of my favorite months to go fluke fishing. Still plenty of time left in the season! Get in touch if you want to catch yours!

Lots of fun last night with a great group of friends! Had a mixed bag of just about everything. Jumbo sea robins, double header flukes, sand sharks, puffer fish. If it swam, we caught it! I didn’t take too many pictures because we were all busy catching fish

Some shots from the last couple of trips. Bay fluking has continued to produce quality fish, along with loads of short life. We also did some scouting in the ocean this week. We found quite a few seabass, mostly shorts, and a couple of beautiful ocean fluke.

A bit of a slower bite than usual for us yesterday, but we had a great time with an awesome group! Good amount of short life and we kept 5 for the table. The water was a bit cooler after the storm that went through and the water clarity wasn’t quite as clean as normal. I anticipate things will be back to normal within the next day or two.

Here is the edited version from the big fish Jonathan caught last night. We shortened it up a bit because this fight lasted close to 5 minutes. The fish was literally dumping the spool on the mini reel. So much adrenaline for me knowing that I had only one shot to get her in the net.
