Electric Fingers, LLC

Electric Fingers, LLC My souls' urge is the art of healing through, restoring the body to complete and lasting health. Once I am done, I expect payment directly.

This business is mobile, which means I will travel to your home. The reason for that is this; why get massaged to feel calm then get in your car a navigate through traffic to get home. By doing that you have lost the value of the massage and might as well burn the money. You can inform me of any area that you want me to focus on, but you need to understand that where ever the pain is there is mor

e pain somewhere else, because typically where you feel the pain is where the muscle has taken over for the muscle that the pain originated in the body, and because the muscle went into over load the pain moved to the next muscle to try and help. If you want to experience the aromatherapy I am happy to accommodate, but this cost extra. If you make an appointment and can't make I need you to tell within 24 hrs. before the appointment, otherwise I will have to charge you half of the cost of the massage. If I can't make it I will let you know on the same bases and at that point you can decide to allow me to get another therapist for your appointment or we can change time and date that fits us both.

*Before getting massage is best to take a shower and leave off any lubricants that you normally use after a shower.
*Put on your underwear
1. Women leave off the bra.
*Cover yourself with robe and enter into the room where the table is set.
*Music is optional. l personally like yoga type music, but if there is something you like better we can play that. The reason for the music is to take your mind off of the day to day things that worry you and bring yourself into the world of relaxation. This will get you the best results!
* Touch- is what massage is all about but if it is too deep you need to let me know, or if I hit a spot that brings up pain you need to tell me, conversely if you want me to work where the pain is and can deal with the pain you need to tell me that as well. I like to work on the front of the body first, then turn you over and work on your back. Every part of the body should be touched that includes the head, unless you are worried about you hairdo in which case you need to let me know so I can work around the hair line. Then when I am finished it is important to drink water because massage releases toxins out, but the water flushes the system.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone I found some recipes on line that are more plant based and I wanted to share them with you!

Lea Michele’s Vegetable Lasagna Roll Ups

Vegetarian Lea Michele crafts a dish loaded with broccoli, Italian herbs and tons of ricotta, Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. If you want to transform this mouth-watering dish into a vegan lasagna, substitute tofu for ricotta and soy cheese for the mozzarella. Serves 6-8.

Broccoli is an all-star food rich in essential vitamins K, C, B1, B2, B3, B6. Whew! This cruciferous beauty is loaded with minerals such as potassium, zinc and magnesium. All this and fiber, too! Broccoli helps fight cancer, strengthens your bones, reduces cholesterol, improves immunity and helps with weight loss.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large bunch broccoli, stems removed, finely chopped
1 16-oz. bag baby carrots, chopped
1 16-oz. box lasagna noodles
1 32-oz. container ricotta cheese. Use 24 oz. extra-firm tofu for vegan option.
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
Salt to taste
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Swap out ground sesame seeds for vegan option.
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. Use sliced mozzarella-style rice cheese for vegan option.
2 24-oz. jars tomato sauce. Reserve half for final topping.

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté chopped broccoli and carrots until tender, about 7 minutes. Place in large bowl and refrigerate until cool.
Cook noodles, drain, and lay flat until cool.
Mix ricotta with garlic powder, oregano, basil, and salt to taste.
Add ricotta mixture, Parmesan, and mozzarella to bowl of broccoli and carrots; mix well with spoon.
Using a spatula, spread 1/2 cup filling onto length of each lasagna noodle, leaving 1/2 inch at each end so roll-ups don’t overflow; roll each one tightly.
Spread half of tomato sauce on bottom of deep baking pan; place roll-ups seam side down.
Cook in oven for 45 minutes.
Remove and top with remaining tomato sauce; cook for 15 more minutes.

Bobby Flay’s Wild Mushroom Cornbread Dressing

Cook this mushroom-cornbread stuffing in an 8-inch cast iron pan for a golden-brown crust.

Mushrooms are a good source of antioxidants and vitamins. They’re one of the few foods that have vitamin D, which is important for building strong bones, reducing inflammation and improving immune function. Great to eat when you have an injury or autoimmune disorder.

Ingredients:
For the cornbread
1 ¼ cups yellow cornmeal
¾ cup all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk
For the dressing
2 tablespoons canola oil
1.5 pounds cremini mushrooms
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 large Spanish onion, finely diced
1 large stalk celery, finely diced
1 medium carrot, finely diced
Cornbread, broken into small pieces
3 to 5 cups homemade chicken stock or low sodium chicken broth, warmed in a medium saucepan
2 large eggs, whisked
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
3 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley

Directions
Make the cornbread:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Put an 8-inch cast iron pan in the oven for 10 minutes.
Stir together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, melted butter and milk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Remove the pan from the oven and spray with nonstick spray or brush with butter. Scrape the batter into the hot pan and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden brown and just baked through.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and let sit out overnight if using for dressing.

Make the dressing:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Heat the oil in a 9-inch cast iron pan over high heat until it begins to shimmer. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and their liquid has evaporated, about 10 minutes. Transfer the mushrooms to a large plate or baking sheet.
Heat butter and oil in large pan over medium high heat. Add the onion, celery and carrots and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Return the mushrooms to the pan and cook for 1 minute longer.
Transfer the mushroom mixture to a large bowl. Whisk the eggs in a small bowl, then add a bit of hot stock to temper them; set aside. Add the cornbread and 2 cups of the stock to the mushroom mixture and stir to combine. The mixture should be quite wet; if it appears too dry, begin adding the remaining stock, a half cup at a time. Stir in the egg mixture, sage, thyme and parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Scrape the dressing into a large well-seasoned cast iron pan and bake in the oven until firm and the top is golden brown, 25 to 35 minutes.

Ina Garten’s Green Beans Gremolata

How easy is that? These green beans are super quick to make with a total time from start to finish of 20 minutes. Ina’s take on a Thanksgiving staple is impressive and downright irresistibly tasty. Gremolata topping made with lemon zest, parsley, and garlic is tossed in at the very end for a nice pop of bright flavor. Pricey pine nuts can be swapped out for almonds.

Green beans are a good source of vitamin C, dietary fiber, folate, vitamin K and silicon you need for healthy bones, skin, and hair.

Ingredients:
1 pound French green beans, trimmed
2 teaspoons minced garlic (2 cloves)
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest (2 lemons)
3 tablespoons minced fresh flat-leaf parsley
3 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
2 1/2 tablespoons good olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch them for 2 to 3 minutes until tender but still crisp. Drain the beans in a colander and immediately put them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking and preserve their bright green color.
For the gremolata, toss the garlic, lemon zest, parsley, parmesan, and pine nuts in a small bowl and set aside.
When ready to serve, heat the olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Drain the beans and pat them dry. Add the beans to the pan and sauté, turning frequently for 2 minutes, until coated with olive oil and heated through. Turn off the heat, add the gremolata and toss well. Sprinkle with 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper and serve hot.

Camila Alves’s Roasted Butternut Squash and Pear Soup

Butternut squash may reduce the risk of cancers including pancreatic cancer, protect against cognitive decline and cut the risk of heart disease by lowering blood pressure and reducing inflammation.
Garnish option: Add a thinly sliced cooked pear to top of each bowl.

Ingredients:
1 butternut squash (or a large package of cut butternut squash)
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
2 pears, peeled, cored, and diced
1/2 teaspoon salt
2-4 tablespoons olive oil
2 quarts chicken or vegetable stock
1 cinnamon stick

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
On a baking sheet, combine cut squash, sliced onions, and diced pears. Add salt and drizzle olive oil to lightly coat and toss mixture. Bake in oven until onions begin to brown, about 8-10 minutes. Toss vegetables and continue cooking until squash is fork tender, about another 8-10 minutes.
Remove vegetables from oven. Take half the vegetable mixture and place it in a blender, add 1 quart of stock, and blend until well combined. Pour soup into a large pot. Repeat with the balance of the vegetables and remaining stock and pour into the pot.
Add the cinnamon stick and simmer soup for 30 minutes.

Gordon Ramsay’s Roasted Cauliflower, Quinoa and Pomegranate Salad

Gordon Ramsay’s nutritious roasted cauliflower, quinoa and pomegranate salad is as healthy and tasty as you could wish. Roasting cauliflower intensifies the flavor and it becomes sweet and almost caramelized around the edges. Toss cauliflower in a sharp pomegranate molasses dressing and you have a scrumptious winner. Makes 4 servings.

Cauliflower is another cruciferous wonder that provides antioxidants and phytonutrients to protect against cancer. It also contains fiber to enhance weight loss and digestion as well as choline that is essential for learning and memory.

Ingredients:
For the salad:
1 large cauliflower, cut into florets
Olive oil, for drizzling
Sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 cup quinoa, rinsed
Small bunch of flat-leaf parsley, leaves picked
Seeds from 1 pomegranate, to serve
For the dressing:
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 garlic clove, peeled and crushed
6 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Place the cauliflower florets on a baking sheet and drizzle with a little olive oil. Season with salt and pepper and toss in the oil to coat. Transfer to the oven and roast for about 20 minutes, turning the cauliflower halfway through, until browned in places. Remove from the oven once cooked.
Cook the quinoa according to the package instructions.
Using a small whisk or a fork, mix the ingredients for the dressing together with a pinch of salt and pepper until completely combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Put the cooked quinoa and the cauliflower into a large bowl. Drizzle with the dressing and fold in the parsley leaves. Scatter over the pomegranate seeds and serve.

Several months ago, Mr. Bill went to the doctor because he was concerned about his heart and that it was not pumping correctly. The doctor gave him antibiotics and asked him to come back in a few weeks.

I recommended to Mr. Bill that he feed his heart with Hawthorn berries. At this time, he was also taking garlic and cayenne on a moderate basis. Mr. Bill decided to increase all 3 of these herbs to give him more nutrition for his heart.

He went to the doctor and after the results of the test the doctor exclaimed, "Your heart has a marked improvement! It is ok except for a little fibrillation at the top. What did you do? Did you take my medications? What else did you take?”

"Why yes," said Mr. Bill "I did take your medication.” (He lied for legal reasons)

“Well Doc, I have been taking some herbs for the heart.” The doctor requested to see them. After examining the hawthorn berries bottle, he said, "I’ve never heard of them.” Mr. Bill laughed. The doctor replied, “Why are you laughing?” Mr. Bill responded, “Doc, since you are a doctor I thought you would know about what is good for the heart." Mr. Bill said to me Mr. Mike, “I LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON THAT DAY.”

Why Raw? Kelly Pomeroy, M.H.

Health problems are at an ever increasing rate; diabetes, cancer, gallstones, kidney stones, weight problems, anxiety, depression, increased heart disease and the list goes on. While we may not have total control in our lives, we have much we can do to help us through health problems or even prevent some altogether. Our diet is one of those things we can work at that makes more of a difference than we realize.

Dr. Norman Walker, a brilliant man known for his passion for juicing and the Norwalk Juicer, wrote a book called, Pure and Simple, Natural Weight Control. He shared a story from his youth that I will briefly relate.1

Norman was determined to figure out why people would get sick by “accepted scientific treatments”. He became a personal guinea pig to understand “authorities” on health. For two years he lived mostly on grain, cereals, flour foods and large quantities of dairy milk, as was highly recommended in his time. One morning (about two years later) he woke and, “like a bolt of lightning,” was overcome with illness and pain. Several doctors gave him no hope of living. He had cirrhosis of the liver and excruciating pain of neuritis. He recalled some advice given to him by a friend and decided to take it. His friend recommended he drink just water for three days and then follow that with fresh fruits and vegetables. He said this would help the toxicity leave his body and help him to get well. After three days of a water fast, he ate fresh fruits and vegetables. Then, once again Norman decided to be a guinea pig and test eating cooked versus fresh produce. He said he noticed a marked difference of less energy and more sluggish bowels when he ate cooked vegetables. He began to see the value of fresh produce and started exploring juicing produce. Those interested can purchase this book at Christopher Publications.

So, why raw? Consuming raw gives us all of the vitamins, enzymes, and minerals available from the plant. As food is heated beyond 130 degrees, the enzymes degrade and cannot be reconstructed. Many water-soluble vitamins are lost as well. Enzymes are like locks that are unlocked by the nutrients we consume. Unlocked enzymes greatly speed up the rate of chemical reactions that take place within cells. By having more enzymes, we utilize more of the nutrients we consume and experience, just as did Norman Walker, increased vitality. Some enzymes found in raw foods are:
• Protease: This enzyme breaks down proteins and is found in foods such as pineapple, papaya, figs, and kiwi. 2
• Papain: This enzyme breaks down proteins and is known to help reduce inflammation. It is found in papaya. 2
• Bromelain: This is a blend of many enzymes that break down proteins which mainly comes from the stem of the pineapple but also found in the fruit of the pineapple.2
• Lipase: This enzyme breaks down fats and is found in foods such as avocados, nuts, and grains.3
• Amylase: This enzyme breaks down carbohydrates into simple sugars and are found in foods such as mango, honey, bananas and more. 2
There are so many more enzymes not accounted for here. Enzymes truly help us absorb and utilize the nutrients in our foods. Ann Wigmore, a pioneer in the raw food industry once said, “The food you eat can either be the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.” Hippocrates admonished, “Let thy food be thy medicine.” Wishing you increased health and more raw in your life!

Healthy Americans David Christopher, M.H.

Our ancestors from Europe came to America to settle and become self-sufficient. In general, they were not prospectors, traders, or conquistadores, but farmers, builders, and craftsmen. They came for freedom and to live by their own efforts and skills. At first many died from disease from harsh conditions and a lack of food and medicine. Once established they became self-sufficient for food but still reliant on Europe for medicine. Some settlers, however, were never reliant on European medicine because they were knowledgeable in herbs and sought for native medicinal plants to assure their freedom. They observed the native inhabitants and their natural lifestyles including their use of native medicinal plants.

In 1633 AD, William Wood writes about ‘the Indians’:

on page 74 in New England’s Prospects, quote “I have been in many places, Yet did I never see one that was born…a monster, or any that sickness had deformed, or casualty made decrepit, free of such health wasting diseases as fevers, pleurisies, agues, obstructions, consumptions, convulsions, dropsies, gout, stones, tooth-aches, pox, measles or the like.” (New England’s Prospects pg. 74)

He goes on to describe their physical traits:

“straight bodies, strongly composed….broad shoulders…small waisted, lank bellied, well thighed.”

The Dutch observed in 1624 “it is somewhat strange that among these most barbarous people, there are few or none cross-eyed, blind, crippled, lame, hunch-backed or limping men; all are well fashioned people, strong and sound of body, well fed, without blemish.”

These Native Americans lived outdoors, ate fresh meat, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds and drank pure water from springs. They were cleaner with their saunas and stream baths, than the settlers who seldom bathed. It is no wonder they were healthier than their jelly and bakery eating counterparts.

Thankfully our ancestors humbled themselves, learning from these “uncivilized inhabitants” and included many local plants like golden seal, echinacea and ginseng for their healing, and medical independence. I hope you all have an enjoyable 4th of July!
