Orcas Youth Silent Auction Request - - https://mailchi.mp/sanjuanmakersguild/winter-market-vendors-invited-10335492

This year during the Winter Artisans Market in Eastsound Village, a special live Silent Auction is being held during the Night Market. The Auction takes place at Odd Fellows Hall on Friday, December 6th.

We are welcoming donations in support of youth programs at the Funhouse, Kaleidoscope and The Forest School, and Orcas Wonder Camp to help increase youth access to the arts and nature.

Art, travel, accomodations, dining donations welcome!

On-the-farm Weaving Workshop – a new highlight for the Orcas Island Farm Tours. Fri and Sat, Oct 4 and 5, 1-3pm. Sign up online.

Come enjoy on-the-farm yarn and weaving activities to create your own take home woven good. Hosted on the beautiful Warm Valley Orchard homestead. Your space reservation includes the take-home materials costs for island grown yarns used in the 2 hr small group workshop.

(Instructor fees are generously funded through the San Juan County LTAC Funds via the San Juan Islands Makers Guild.)

We suggest arriving at noon for a self-guided farm tour to see the sheep, chickens, orchard, garden and farm stand. Plus live spinning demonstration and a visit to the fiber studio featuring the works of 3 fiber and clay artists. Maria Nutt, Cathy Vierthaler, Oak Boesky.

Fall Fest Sunday on the Farm - see it made - make it yourself!

Fall Festival in Deer Harbor, Orcas Island is this Sunday, Sept. 22nd, 12-4:30 pm at the Family Tides Farm. Join local artists and artisans and gather local botanicals for metal casting. Hone your knife skills, weave with island plants, make and print on paper – something for all ages. Plus cider pressing, music, food, hay rides and more!

Fall Fest Sunday on the Farm - see it made - make it yourself!

Fall Festival in Deer Harbor, Orcas Island is this Sunday, Sept. 22nd, 12-4:30 pm at the Family Tides Farm. Join local artists and artisans and gather local botanicals for metal casting. Get Your FOLK ON! Come to the Salish Sea Folk Arts Fest on Orcas Island - Registration is OPEN! Saturday pass includes a full day of music, folk dancing, kids camp, and a Makers Fair. Plus add-on workshops in drum making, cedar basket making, wood carving, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving, eco-poetry writing, contra dance and more. On Orcas Island at the historic Moran State Park, May 17-18. Come play! Learn, dance, sing, and celebrate PNW Folk Arts. Hostel style cabins and private lodging options and meals. Small, welcoming community gathering limited to 150 participants. Excellent teachers, beautiful forest and lake location, and heritage skillsharing. Main Fest is Saturday May 18 with a full day of workshop options on Friday and more on Saturday. 2-3 night lodging options. Free kids activities on Saturday. All ages and abilities welcome.
