REAL ID is coming May 7, 2025. Are you ready? Look for the "star" on your driver's license to determine whether you meet the upcoming requirements or not. U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities or they need to provide alternate identification. NEWS: TSA published a final rule providing a framework for federal agency phased enforcement of REAL ID requirements. Federal agencies, including TSA, will begin REAL ID enforcement on the deadline—May 7, 2025.

Are you REAL ID READY? As the Wisconsin Department of Transportation shared earlier this week, it’s the last holiday travel season before REAL ID requirements begin in 2025. If you don't have the star in the upper right hand corner of your Wisconsin Driver's License, now is the time to beat the rush and apply for it.

BE REAL ID READY: It’s the last holiday travel season before READ ID requirements begin in 2025. The Wisconsin DMV encourages travelers to update their driver license/ID cards ahead of the May, 7, 2025 deadline.

In 2025, airline travelers will face new identification requirements to board their flights. Beginning May 7, the regular Wisconsin driver license or ID will no longer be accepted identification for domestic air travel or to enter a federal building or military base.

Those who already have a driver license or ID may obtain a REAL-ID compliant card for $14, the cost of a replacement license. It might have been chilly but the sun was shining as we welcomed the inaugural flight of United Express (operated by SkyWest Airlines) with nonstop service to Chicago O'Hare earlier today. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the return of daily service. Here's a few photos from the fun event.

Two years ago it was hard to imagine what weekly air service to rotating destinations on Sun Country would be like for the community. To say it was successful would be an understatement. As we transition to a new daily airline tomorrow, we remain grateful for the amazing nonstop destinations and smiling faces we've encountered along the way. Thankfully, Sun Country is not going anywhere and will launch nonstop seasonal Fort Myers, FL flights on January 31st (49 days away, but who's counting?!). See you again soon Sun Country Airlines!
