Subject: WARNING - SCAM ALERT/"Summer Fest"
Hello ######X,
The Town has been made aware of social media posts noting a “Summer Fest event on August 19 and 20 at Bay Creek Park, and the posts also are soliciting vendor applications. Please note this is NOT an event the Town is aware of, and no such event has been booked at Bay Creek Park. We believe this is some sort of scam, and we ask all residents and others to be cautious and not forward money or information as requested in the posts.

Do you hear the trees singing? That is the sound of a male cicada (family cicadide) during mating season. When their tymbals rub against each other it makes this loud clicking sound to attract female cicadas. One of the most well-known types of cicadas is Magicicda which have a longer-life cycle of 13 to 17 years! While walking the grounds of Charles Pinckney NHS, stop for a moment and listen to the cicada’s song.

I went to the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves. Instead, the wind overtook the sound and then the sound of the sand blowing can be heard. But a nice day anyway.

Looking for a peaceful getaway? Check out Egrets Pointe Townhouses at Edisto Beach, SC.
Egrets Pointe Townhouses is located on beautiful Edisto Beach, on the remote island of Edisto. Off of the southern coast of South Carolina, the sea island is surrounded by 300 wooded acres, the Atlantic Ocean, Inter-coastal Waterway, rivers, creeks and a sound. It is one of a few surviving unspoiled islands and beaches in the United States. Little commercialization can be found on the island and beach, making it a special get-away destination year round.
Egrets Pointe Townhouses is a timeshare association which offers re-sales and vacation rentals. These townhouses are located inside gated Wyndham Ocean Ridge Resort, where a beautiful lagoon and island’s wildlife can be enjoyed from the master bedroom balcony, family room, deck and grounds.
Owners and visitors can enjoy a complete range of recreational facilities in a quiet getaway made for relaxation. To keep you busy, the resort has bike paths, fishing ponds, tennis courts, swimming pools and an 18 hole golf course. Included with the amenities, Egrets Pointe Townhouses owners and guests can enjoy Wyndham’s cabana on the beach. Off the beach but on the island are various attractions, such as Botany Bay, SC State Park activities, Serpentarium and the history museum to be enjoyed.
Day trips off the island can be made to Charleston, SC, around 45 minutes away. Other day trips can be made to Walterboro, SC, the home of the SC Artisan’s Center and Tuskegee Airmen Museum, which is less than an hour away. Historic Beaufort, Savannah and Hilton Head Island, with their fascinating homes and rich culture, are less than two hours away.
After returning to the townhouse, there are grills around the resort for owners and guests to use. After dinner, lounging around the townhouse watching the Egrets and other wild life around the lagoon are the perfect way to end a full day.
