Did you know that Wiebke Fur & Trading Co is a 4th generation business?

Wiebke Produce was started by Henry Wiebke (Tom’s grandfather). He passed it along to his son, Junior Wiebke (pictured on the right), and his grandson, Tom Wiebke (pictured in the middle). Together they created Wiebke Fur & Trading Company.

The business is currently owned by Tom’s sons, Dan and Jason Wiebke, making the 4th generation.

Did you know that Wiebke Fur & Trading Co started out as a produce store?

In 1935 Junior Wiebke took over as the owner/operator of the local produce business, located across the street from the current Eitzen location. In addition to feed, seed, and fertilizer sales he also was in the egg, poultry, and wool business.

To help supplement the business during the winter, Junior started buying hides in the lower level of the produce building.

2025 is a milestone year for Wiebke Fur & Trading Company as we celebrate 100 years of business this September. As we look ahead to a promising future, we invite you to reflect with us on the humble beginnings that shaped our journey.

Throughout this year, we’ll take a walk down memory lane, sharing the story of how a simple start buying red fox in the back of a small pool hall grew into becoming one of the largest raw fur dealers in the nation. These past 100 years have been built on a foundation of hard work, determination, family, and the trust of incredible people like you.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Here’s to 100 years!
