The Second Annual Girls In STEM Trail Ride is a joint event hosted by Tread Lightly! and the El Centro Field Office that brings together young men and women interested in pursuing STEM degrees and careers and introduces them to professionals who have followed their passions and made careers in STEM. This year’s ride saw eight young people join with 18 volunteers to hear nine inspiring presentations from Women in STEM.

Making a difference over weekend! 😃🦺Our El Centro Field Office maintenance team had a blast engaging visitors at the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area! Staff facilitated fun games for children and connected with visitors on topics like keeping trash out of the dunes and supporting wildlife.

Proudly serving on our public lands, the crew performs facility and road upkeep and collaborates with agencies like the National Park Service on highway projects. It was a great time meeting new and long-time visitors to the dunes! 🏜️🚙
