Before the day is over we would like to say Hau`oli La Makuakane to all you fathers out there, with a special shoutout to our two Kapena (captains)! Does anyone recognize these faces? Featured in the above pictures is Captain Lani- the man who built and started this family business, and the little boy with him is standing aboard Kahanu about 35 years ago! Flip through to see other pictures of Captain Kamua today, continuing his father’s legacy as today’s Captain. Those two handsome young men you see with Captain Kamua are two of his sons, Kahanu and Kamaehu. When stepping foot on Kahanu, you are not stepping by foot on a boat, you are joining our ‘ohana, witnessing a family legacy that will continue for generations to come, upholding and perpetuating our culture, our history, our family. “Ho’omaka na kūpuna…kāmau mākou…” “Our ancestors began…we continue…”
