Books & Booze was a wonderful and successful SOLD OUT event thanks to Linea Johnson of We Out Here & The Recycled Reader Used Bookstore. Over 40 guests were able to tour our space, enjoy beer & wine, snack on delicious hors d'oeuvres and most importantly - peruse through a great collection of literary works! It was such a good time to socialize with the community and being in camaraderie with one another. Many of you have already asked about us hosting another event, we’re currently in the process of solidifying a date for our next book fair and other events. We will keep y’all posted on any updates.

We want to thank Island Breeze Grill for providing the wine and to Carol Flowers from F&H Print Design for her volunteer services. And a special shout-out to Ronald V. E. Griswell for taking these awesome photos!

UPDATE on Books & Booze:

Let us tell you how awesome the people at The Recycled Reader Used Bookstore are! They’re so excited for this adult book fair, that they’ve decided to include a complimentary book with the price of admission! That’s right! Your first book is FREE! How awesome is that?! The tickets have been going fast and we’re so thrilled that y’all are as pumped for this event as we are!

As a reminder, Books & Booze will be held on Thursday, September 30th from 6 pm - 8 pm at 222 North Poindexter Street, Elizabeth City, NC. Beer, wine, and hor d’oeuvres will be served. There will also be non-alcoholic options available for those who do not drink. The event will be capped at 40 guests so purchase your tickets in advance. We will put the EventBrite link in the comments for easy access.

COVID POLICY: If you’re vaccinated, masks are not required. However, if you’re not, we ask that you wear a mask. Thank you for your understanding.

Greetings!

Based on the overwhelming response to our curated events post, we've decided to move forward with our first event for the year! We've partnered with The Recycled Reader to host an ADULT book fair! Who remembers the excitement you felt as a child when the scholastic book fair came to town?! We wanted to channel that nostalgia and curate a cozy event for guests to unwind and delve into the many literary realms that books often take us through.

We'll be following up with a post that has the Eventbrite link to book. We are only accepting pre-orders and once we meet capacity, we will have to cap the event. In line with COVID protocols, masks are optional if you're vaccinated. If you're not vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask. Thank you for your understanding.

We're beyond excited to host this event! Please let us know if there's anything in particular you'll like to see us host!

Elizabeth City is growing and we’re so excited to see what’s to come. We took a ride around our beautiful city this evening and were thrilled to see so many people out and about downtown.

We’re heavily considering curating in-house luxury events at the Loft - for example:

Brunch, Bottomless Mimosas, & Jazz
Wine Tasting & An Evening Quartet
Reggae Vibes & Hors D'oeuvres

(These are just some possible options, feel free to leave ideas in the comments section)
