We appreciate the outpouring of support for the Chamber and Carter County Tourism from the recent articles in the news that Carter County Commission’s Financial Management Committee is actively pursuing canceling the long-standing contract for tourism with Carter County Tourism, that is a division of the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce. If your business directly depends on and profits from tourism or relocation in our community, canceling this contract will directly affect you from a loss of tourism promotion.

We encourage you to speak to the Carter County Commissioners directly, join us for public comment on Dec 16th at 6pm at the Carter County Courthouse and have your voice be heard.

🎄✨ Join us for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting! ✨🎄

Mark your calendars for next Saturday, November 23rd, at 5:15 PM as we kick off the holiday season with a magical evening! Enjoy festive music, delicious food trucks, and a special visit from Santa.

Due to increased traffic in Downtown caused by Hurricane Helene, we have decided to change the location of our annual tree lighting. While we will still light the historic Fraser Fir, the ceremony will now take place at Covered Bridge Park. This year’s event will include the lighting of both the historic tree and ten additional trees scattered throughout the park. These trees have been graciously donated by Hawk Mountain Tree Farm and Garden Center in Boone, North Carolina.

Bring your family and friends, and let’s spread some holiday cheer together!

We’ve worked hard to restore everything and are ready to welcome you back with delicious meals and warm hospitality. Whether you’re passing through or staying for a while, we can't wait to serve you again!

Essential service, relief and recovery effort teams are working diligently to support those affected by Tropical Storm Helene in Carter County. It’s important to respect their work and give them the space needed to continue these essential operations. Now is not the time to go sightseeing or to capture pics/video. Our mountain towns are full of spirit and know how to rally. They'll be here to welcome you when the time is right.

If you need to access the internet our Visitor Center/Chamber of Commerce is open at 615 E. Elk Ave. in Elizabethton.

🛜 Internet services have been restored at the Elizabethton Chamber office! We will open 8am Monday.

All are welcome to utilize our guest network for checking messages, updating family, and otherwise communicating during this difficult time.

⚠️ Elk Ave. bridge has reopened to traffic. Broad St. bridge will remain closed.

*Remember to refrain from travel unless necessary and keep up-to-date with city and county pages for recorvery efforts and utility repairs.*
