Tyler and I were very surprised and honored to accept the Life Can be This Good award at the Celebrate Elkader Event!
Tyler kept asking have you posted about it yet. I said not yet because I'm trying to find just the right words and I had a strong feeling to have a picture of the plaque with the kids. You can see how that turned out! LOL
It reads: "Embrace the small town quality of life and setting an example for future generations!" We love our Elkader community and love raising our kids here! On the evening of the event, we were asked to close our eyes and reflect on why Elkader? All these faces in this picture were the first thing that popped in my head along with all of our family in the area. It was followed by our school friends and coworkers, our farm and all of its' beauty, community events, and our Deer Run Family!
Thank you to those who voted for us! We will always embrace this life and look forward to helping others enjoy our community as well!

It is never too early to start planning a trip to Elkader!
We are a family owned and operated RV resort nestled in beautiful northeast Iowa.
All of our sites are concrete pads and patio with full hook up (water, sewer and 30/50 amp electric)
Our seasonal sites are full but we have 22 campsites that you can rent by the night, weekend or month! We also have 2 fully stocked campers that we rent out as well as a cottage!

One of our most heard misunderstandings is that the Elkader Golf course is private. That’s not true!! This might have been perceived many years ago, but times have changed!

Becoming a member has it’s own benefits such as:
✅ Use of the upstairs rental at a much lower price
✅ being able to rent a cart shed located at the golf course
✅ Being able to voice your opinions at board meeting
✅ Being able to join certain leagues for golf
✅ being more in the “know” of what’s going on now and what the future brings to our beautiful course
Plus lots lots more…

But what we want to make clear here is that you do NOT need to be a member to come enjoy our golf course or clubhouse. We love seeing everyone!!!

If you like playing cards, we play poker every Friday night. Poker is played UPSTAIRS! So you don’t have to worry about being disruptive if you just want to come for a drink.

Stop out Friday and see Gracie, she’d love to mix you up a drink! Bring her a KitKat and she may even buy you a drink 😃
