Bucket list item to check off!!!

The first parade was in 1924 so this is the 100th Anniversary of the parade and The Pride of WV, the Mountaineer Marching Band will be included! We are looking at trying something a little different for this trip. We will have 2 full days and 1 evening in NYC, and 2 nights lodging at a hotel in the city.

We will leave early, 6AM on Wednesday Nov. 27 and should arrive in NYC around 6PM. We will stop for lunch along the way, as well as several rest breaks. We'll check into the hotel and you can enjoy Wednesday evening in the Big Apple. The next day is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, so get up early to get your prime spot for watching, before spending another night at the hotel. And it wouldn't be right to leave without enjoying Black Friday shopping in NYC, so we will check out of the hotel, but leave your bags with them so that you can shop till you drop or at least until 9PM, when you would make your way back to the hotel to gather your bags and load the bus for the trip back home through the night. (You should be very tired from all that shopping and sleep well).
Pricing is based on occupancy per person. We need a minimum of 50 passengers on the bus by August 15th to take the trip. To register, please click the link to the right and it will take you to the registration signup page. Once I get your signup info, I will email the registration agreement. An invoice for the
$ 100 deposit will be sent upon registration and can be paid via Credit Card or ACH from a checking account. This deposit is due within 7 days of registration. Once the initial deposit is received, another invoice will be sent with the remaining balance due. This balance will be due by August 15th, 2024. Reminder emails will go out beginning 30 days prior to due date. You can pay earlier if you wish. If the deposit is not paid by the deadline, your spot will not be reserved and become available for another passenger(s).
The pricing is as follows:

Single Occupancy 1 Queen Room $ 920.00 per person
Double Occupancy 1 Queen Room $ 650.00 per person
Double Occupancy 2 Double Room $ 685.00 perperson
Triple Occupancy 2 Double Room $ 585.00 per person
Quad Occupancy 2 Double Room $ 535.00 per person

11/27/2024 Bus will have additional pickups at Walmart, Clarksburg, WV at approx. 7:45 AM. Please be at the lot by 7:15 AM. Pickup location will be at the Walmart parking lot, Section close to the road & Burger King. 550 Emily Dr, Clarksburg, WV 26301. Rest Room break also (30 Minutes)

11/29/2024 Black Friday in NYC-We are doing something different this year and spending additional time in the city!!! You can check out at anytime you wish, as long as it is before the posted check out time(TBD). The hotel will store your bags until we leave that evening. Enjoy another day in NYC. We will meet back at the hotel at 9:15 to begin loading the bus for departure home at 10:00PM. Bus will depart promptly at 10:00 PM. Sleep on the bus.

Unfortunately due to some health issues, we will be canceling our trips scheduled for June, July & the Sight & Sound trips. If you have registered and paid your deposits for any of these trips, you will receive an email and a full refund shortly. The Thanksgiving trip to the Macy Parade is still planned for November and will go as planned if we get the required number of passengers needed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

These are some of the possible itineraries for 2024. Nothing is set in stone yet, as I have to get quotes from the hotels and the bus company. For the July 4th option, I am also inquiring about the possibility of having the rooftop bar at the Kitano to watch the fireworks. They state "There is an partially obstructed view of the Fireworks but it is still quite impressive." More details to come.

June 7-8 Creation Museum & Ark Encounter. 6:00 AM Leave Elkview-Arrive at Creation Museum approx. 10:45 AM. Lunch and dinner on your own at one of the dining areas in the museum. Board the bus to our hotel at 7:00 PM. Arrive at hotel by 8:00 PM. Bus will take us to the Ark Encounter at 9:00 AM on the 8th. It is also withing walking distance if there is availability at a certain hotel there. Lunch and dinner on your own at one of the food establishments in the Ark. The bus will pick us up at 6:00 PM for the trip home. Arrive back in Elkview approx. 10:30 PM.

July 4-6, 2024 NYC Fireworks 6:00 AM Leave Elkview-Additional Pickup in Clarksburg-Lunch Stop in Hagerstown-Arrive in NYC approx. 6:30pm 2 night stay in Hotel Leave 10:30 AM to return home July 6th Arrive back in Elkview approx. 9:30 PM

As I was reflecting on our latest trip to NYC, I started seeing some of the same names. I decided to look through the lists from my previous bus trips and marking people who were repeat passengers. Even though we just started taking our bus trips in 2017, I was overwhelmed that there were 31 passengers that have gone at least twice and some most, if not all of them. For a small business, that is the best compliment that we can receive and beats any advertising! Thank you to all of our repeat customers and an extra special thank you to our new customers that help us grow, who hopefully turn into repeat customers.

Since opening up the registration yesterday morning, we have already had 20 guests register with several already paying their deposits. If we reach capacity with the rooms at the hotel early enough, I might be able to secure an additional bus and rooms. However, if we do get a second bus and I get one of our agents to go on it, we will spread out the timing to cut down on stopping times. Most likely leave an hour or 1 & 1/2 hours later. Not sure of the pickup spots yet. No guarantees, but we will try our best.

Tuesday November 28th is the day. We will open up the registration for the 2024 NYC Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade trip. With it being a very busy time for NYC, bookings will be a little different for this trip. We received all of the pricing back from the bus company as well as the different quotes from the hotels. The cost of the bus is 150% higher than our normal price, but we did work out a great price at a hotel we have stayed at in the past, Hilton New York Fashion District. All the details will be released Tuesday morning. We will be taking 1 bus leaving from Elkview with pickups in Clarksburg as well.

Due to the fact that NYC is very busy and sells out early during this period, they can only give us an allotment of 25 rooms at the present time 15 rooms with 2 double beds and 10 rooms with 1 queen bed. The double beds can accommodate 2, 3 or 4 guests while the Queen can accommodate 1 or 2 guests.

Preliminary pricing looks to be around the amounts below and includes the bus ride, tip for driver, 2 nights lodging in NYC, porterage charge for 1 bag each, snacks & water on the bus:

The rooms have been turned into the hotel and have already been booked by others. Therefore no other guests will be booked. If someone wants to go on the waiting list, they can still request the registration form and be put on the waiting list in case of any cancellations. The group MUST match the total of the cancelled group. For example, if 2 guests cancel that had a room with 1 King bed, we would need that room to be taken by 2 guests in a King room. Group of 3, needs to be replaced by a group of 3, etc... At this time, I will go through the members of the group page and ensure that everyone is registered on the trip and remove any that is not, as I will be posting the seating charts shortly and only want the guests on the trip to have access to it. Please do not invite others into the group that is not going on the trip.
