Visit Howard County is thrilled to have been a part of the recent She Got Buckets basketball tournament held in our county. She Got Buckets, a nonprofit AAPI organization, passionately promotes recreational women's basketball across all skill levels. 🏀 We're so excited to support events like this that spotlight the diverse talent and community spirit within our population! There were so many smiling faces, and the event truly highlighted the power that sports have to bring people together.

Howard County Welcome Center Hosts Korean Art Pop-Up Museum
Visit Howard County in partnership with the HanGuk Art Center, will host a pop-up art museum in the Howard County Welcome Center located at 8267 Main Street in Ellicott City’s historic district.
The HanGuk Art Center pop-up museum features a collection of over 30 art pieces, including pottery, paintings, screens, artifacts, books, and more. The collection depicts Korean art and culture, some of which were displayed at the Korean Embassy in Washington D.C.
The collection was curated by Mi Schill Kim, a Korean art collector and owner-operator of the former Asian Art Collective gallery that was located on Main Street in Ellicott City for over twenty years. Kim’s vision is to bring Korean art and culture to all, and she has ambitions to expand the HanGuk Art Center and secure a permanent location.
In addition to the impressive collection, art and retail items are available for purchase. Proceeds will support the HanGuk Art Center and Howard County Welcome Center. Children are offered free activities, including Korean English-word translation coloring pages. Books on Korean art and culture are also available for loan at no charge.
The HanGuk Art Center pop-up museum is open now through February 2025.
On March 28th, the ribbon cutting welcomed guests including dignitaries from the Korean Embassy, members from local AAPI communities, elected officials, and others.
