12-5 on Sunday

The Ellinwood Underground City Foundation has a wonderful weekend package in Wichita in our Silent Auction. Overnight for 2 at the Hotel at Old Town, 2 tickets to Botanica, 2 tickets to the Sedgwick Zoo and Dinner for two at the River City Brewing Company. Another Great Getaway.

Look at this treasure I found in the Ellinwood Underground City Foundation archives, the original transfer deed of 1900 when Matt Dick purchased the building from Julius Meyer.

The Ellinwood Underground City Foundation also has this ledger book from Dick Bros. Gas Station. The entries begin in the late 1920's. On May 5, 1930, B.F. Bolin Purchased gun grease for #2 and Gas for $1.26 and on July 3 he bought Tag III Oil for $3.70 and Transmission oil for $4. His big expense was on September 27 when he bought Kerosine for $6.

Ellinwood Historian, Wayne Aherns has donated this AMAZING piece of stationary to the new Ellinwood Underground City Foundation. It will be placed on exhibit in our new Visitor Orientation Center once restoration of the space is complete. Thank you Wayne for your generosity.
