I had a private trip with a repeat customer today that really wanted to see a moose. It wasn't standing in the best light, but she was over the moon to see it. This was my 15th moose in 15 calendar days. We also saw a wolf, cranes, eagle and much more. www.ericshermanimages.com

This morning was a terrific day for terrible photography. My morning included 5 more moose, but none of them gave me more than 5-10 seconds to react, stop, get the camera up and get a decent photo. Sometimes that's just the way it goes. Mom and her 2 calves were definitely the highlight of the 10 moose I have seen in the last 7 days though. www.ericshermanimages.com

It took all 3 days of the long weekend, but the moose finally made an appearance this morning. Three different sightings including one with a collar. It's nice that all three presented photo opportunities. It's a great time to be out in the woods. Dozens of sets of moose tracks, but no moose today on the 1st guide trip of the year. My customers still had a great time though. There were plenty of other things around today including upwards of 40 grouse, swans, ducks, geese, loons, an eagle, a rabbit being chased by a fisher and much more. It was another great day in the woods. Today's fun included my 1st Canada Lynx sighting of the year. I saw and photographed more than a dozen of them in 2023. I hope 2024 is the same. For those of you hoping to still book a wildlife trip this summer, I have extremely limited room left on the schedule. July is totally booked and August and September are filling in. I only have a couple more full trips available for booking this season and about 15 shorter trips. The way they are going I don't expect them to last long. We spotted this beautiful Great Grey owl on our evening 1/2 day trip on Friday. These owls are always so fun. Eric Sherman Images Wildlife Adventures is the only federally licensed and insured Superior National Forest guide of this type. We offer 1/2 day and full day wildlife and history tours though the heart of the forest. Exciting news! Eric Sherman Images Wildlife Adventures is now offering 1/2 day trips. This opens up a lot of evenings. These shorter 4-5 hr trips will be about 100-120 miles long. They will be a truncated version of the full day trip and still travel through the heart of moose country while coving some of the vast history held withing the Superior National Forest. Tickets are $115 each. They will run annually from Memorial Day to Labor Day and will start at 4:45pm.

The first Wildlife Adventure guided trip of 2023 is in the books and it was a great one. We saw quite a variety of wildlife including these swans that were chasing each other around. (We actually saw 30 swans today) We are also 1 for 1 on moose. The one we spotting was not sticking around for a photo op, but at least all of my clients were able to see it for a moment. With my first wildlife adventure trip of the season only 10 days away I figured I better get out and do a little recon. Spring is slowly creeping along, but it looks like the roads will finally be clear just in time for that first trip. Lots of wildlife out on this very foggy day. No moose today, but I found nearly 30 sets of tracks. That means the odds are good we will have success. I also saw a fox, dozens of grouse, scores of ducks, a few swans, several hawks, sandhill cranes, and more.

We had a four moose (and 2 fox) morning today! Sometimes a moose will stand there and let you photograph it all day. Sometimes you come over the top of a hill to a couple of moose butts running ahead of you so you blast a couple blurry photos through the windshield. All in all it was a great morning.
