When the producers of this newly released film saw Opal House, they loved the sense of time and place of this historic home and made it the primary shooting location featured in this wonderful film!

Opal House in the movies!

For the past couple months, Opal House has been featured in an independent film production centered in Ely. The working title of the coming of age movie is Athens.

As we transition into the busy summer season, the lighting crews and production team have packed up their gear and Opal House is ready to set the stage for your own real life Ely adventures to begin!

“This place has EVERYTHING! We were visiting our daughter at Vermilion college and appreciated the adorable vintage decor and comfortable, cozy spaces to rest, family games to play and absolutely everything you'd need in the kitchen to prep & serve meals if needed. Wonderful location to walk to amenities--wide-open park for my younger kids, groceries, toy store, gear outfitters, ice cream, laundry mat, etc. Internet connection was great. Check-in was a breeze. Honestly, I almost hesitate to say how much I adored our stay here since you may be my future competition for reservations when we plan to return! “This was just what we were looking for. The house was clean and well stocked! Check in was simple. The location was perfect for heading into town or taking a short trip to many area hikes.
