A quiet lake with no public access and only a handful of residents on this beautiful 300 acre lake, this custom built hand scribed log home sits in a private bay. If you like fishing, you’re in luck. According to a DNR study in 2011, the fish are well above average. It often feels like being in the Boundary Waters, but with warm showers and soft beds at the end of the day. If you like recreation,
the lake warms up surprisingly early for the north woods and offers plenty of swimming time in the summer. With all the undeveloped land surrounding this lake, there is endless opportunity for paddling and exploration. If you travel with your own snowmobile, the lake has a trail that connects to the Taconite Trail. This lake has it all, and most of the time, you’ll feel like you have it all to yourself, and you’re still only 5 miles from all of the convenience of Ely, voted the coolest small town in America by Budget Travel and selected as one of America's 100 best adventure towns by National Geographic. In the summer, guests may use the pontoon boat, 2 kayaks, and 2 canoes at no extra charge. Enjoy the fire pit by the lake, water trampoline, or relax in the hammock. A fully stocked kitchen and wild berries on and around the property in summer. Snowshoes available for 2 adults and 2 children in the winter. High chair, toddler cups and silverware, toys and games for a variety of ages and interests are available for use. Guest access
Snowmobiles, ski boat, and ATV are off limits to guests. You may use our pontoon, 2 canoes, and 2 kayaks, but there is not a way to accommodate guests bringing their own motorized boats. Interaction with guests
Available by phone or text, if needed, during your stay. The neighborhood
Secluded and quiet, yet only 5 miles into town. There is only one resort on the other side of the lake and a handful of other neighbors on the lake. Getting around
The cabin is 2 miles down a gravel road. It is plowed, but snow tires are recommended in the winter. Other things to note
This is a cabin in the woods and wildlife is all around. There is not a sandy, swimming beach as the shoreline is rocky. The swimming is in the bay off the dock and trampoline. If you are inquiring about booking, please tell me a bit about yourself, your group, and your plans to visit Ely. Include children in count of number of guests and tell me about any pets you would like to bring. Our cabin is family friendly, but if you have small children, know that the stairs are and railings on the deck and loft are open and have wide spaces. Feel free to move furniture to block the steps and railings; do what you need to do for their safety and your peace of mind.
