How we got to where we are today
Originally founded in 1986 as Bluewater Associates of Emerald Isle, Inc., the company was originally formed as a land development company by five homebuilders. Its first project, appropriately named Bluewater Bay, was an oceanfront community completed in February 1986. This first development was an overnight success, with every one of its 85 lots selling in less than three hours. The marketing skills employed in that endeavor proved extremely successful- so successful that people actually camped five cold February nights outside the door before the actual sale date.
In the summer of 1993, Bluewater Associates launched a property management division which would later become Bluewater Vacation Rentals. With just seven vacation rental home contracts, Bluewater leaped into the vacation rental business. The productivity and exponential growth of this branch has helped Bluewater Vacation Rentals and Real Estate become one of the larger vacation rental companies on the East Coast, managing nearly 1,000 vacation homes. Managed by Kevin Futral, Bluewater Vacation Rentals’ property management division currently employs 105 professionals and also includes association management, annual rentals, pool and hot tub installation and maintenance.
Not forgetting their roots, the owners merged their construction companies to form Bluewater Builders in 1998. Anthony is superintendent for the building company, which has constructed many of the Blue Pearl Homes that are found in Bluewater’s vacation rental division. Bluewater Builders’ homes are found exclusively in Bluewater Cove and many of the finest subdivisions in the county. Bluewater Builders has been selected to be a premier builder in the exclusive Cannonsgate at Bogue Sound Community.
With the increased interest in pools and hot tubs in the coastal communities of North Carolina, we recognized the need for highly trained technicians to provide specialized services for our neighbors throughout the Crystal Coast. In 2005 our company grew further by offering Pool and Spa installation and maintenance with Bluewater Pools and Spas.
In 2009, we successfully ventured into event coordination and concierge services. To round out the family, in 2012 we began offering insurance coverage for your home, automobile and boat.
