MT Sobek’s CFO, Trevor, just wrapped up his first adventure on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River! His family soaked in the stunning scenery, enjoyed thrilling water activities, and experienced the rush of whitewater rafting with our top-notch river guides.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating glacial flood that struck Thame, Nepal, a small Sherpa village in the Everest region, this past Friday. We are thankful to report that all villagers, including the 47 children at the local school, have safely relocated to a nearby village.

The Himalayan Times reports, “50% of the village has been severely damaged, with the remaining houses rendered uninhabitable.” Thame school and student hostel, the health clinic, and 30 of the villages’ 45 homes have been destroyed or severely damaged. The power supply is cut off, and the trails leading in and out of the village have been swept away.

To help, we are requesting donations for the American Himalayan Foundation, an organization committed to the region’s long-term resilience and well-being. Mountain Travel Sobek has long supported the American Himalayan Foundation’s efforts, and Thame holds a special place in our hearts. Together, we can help them rebuild their homes, their school, and their lives.
