Villa Albertine is a program where artists and thinkers from the French speaking world spent time in the United States. In January of 2022 Delta Discovery served as a guide for Nicolas Floch, who takes otherworldly underwater photos. In this podcast, learn how the River’s color––which varies shockingly from vivid green to rusty red and electric yellow––reveals both clues about a region’s historical underpinning and the anthropological, climatic, geopolitical, and cultural state of the lands it passes through. Discover the similarities and differences between the Mississippi Delta and the Rhone River in France, which are both situated in industrial areas and have been subject to pollution. Join us as we dive into the fascinating world of underwater landscapes with Nicolas Floc’h.

6 image vertical pano of The Mitchell River silt jetties are an unusually long, thin landform in the Gippsland Lakes region in Victoria, Australia. A type of digitate delta, they have been formed over thousands of years by sediment deposition from the Mitchell River during periods of low water flow and subsequent wash-through during periods of high water flow. The long narrow banks of silt thus formed extend more than eight kilometres east into Lake King. The south bank is navigable by car from Eagle Point through to the very easternmost tip at Point Dawson
