Located in the East Central edge of the Flint Hills, there are hundreds of miles of gravel roads in all directions from Emporia for cyclists to enjoy with family and fri

ends or to train for gravel races. If disc golf is your game, we offer multiple 18-hole and three 9-hole courses. When you're off the roads and courses, Emporia has over two dozen locally-grown eateries to enjoy. Nightlife options include a brewery, a winery, a distillery, an Irish pub, a 6,000 square foot country dance bar and axe throwing. You are welcome here any time to ride, play, or just relax and enjoy!

EMPORIA, KANSAS, JANUARY 31, 2025 - - The Emporia Community Arts Alliance, a project of Visit Emporia, is currently accepting proposals through March 20th, to create public art in Emporia. A Project Proposal template is available at visitemporia.com/place/public-art. The Arts Alliance is seeking quality innovative and creative proposals.

"The Emporia Community Arts Alliance is all about using the power of art to tell Emporia’s story and enhance our shared spaces," said LeLan Dains, Director of Visit Emporia. "We’re excited to invite artists and visionaries to bring their ideas to life and contribute to the vibrant culture that makes Emporia unique." Visit Emporia created the Community Arts Alliance in 2022 with a goal of working towards enriching and promoting Emporia through the arts. The Alliance has completed 9 projects to date, totaling nearly $60,000.

Members of the alliance are volunteers who represent a variety of art organizations in Emporia. Kansas Tourism

If disc golf is your game, welcome to the Gravel Capital of the World! Emporia boasts five 18-hole and three 9-hole courses in town and five additional courses within 10-30 miles. They don’t call us Disc Golf Disneyland for nothing! When you're off the roads and courses and ready kick back, Emporia has over two dozen locally-grown eateries. From burgers and BBQ to Mexican and Asian to wood-fired, brick-oven pizza, there’s something to please everyone. Also, check out the 60,000 square-foot farm and home store, gourmet chocolate shop, and nightlife options including an Irish pub, an ESU-themed bar, a 6,000 square-foot country dance bar as well as a brewery, distillery, and winery.
