When you're off the roads and courses, Emporia has over two dozen locally-grown eateries to enjoy. Nightlife options include a brewery, a winery, a distillery, an Irish pub, a 6,000 square foot country dance bar and axe throwing. You are welcome here any time to ride, play, or just relax and enjoy!

Deadline Approaching for Tourism Grant Program

EMPORIA, KANSAS, January 2, 2025 - - Visit Emporia continues to accept applications for its 2025 Tourism Grant Program through January 15. The program is designed to assist an organization in the start-up and/or growth, of an event or project. The grant is for new marketing plans, new attractions or events, or first-time enhancements to existing events and attractions.

According to Visit Emporia Director LeLan Dains, “Our grant is designed to spur creativity and growth in Emporia Tourism.” Applications can be completed online at www.visitemporia.com. The final day to submit a grant application is January 15.

Congratulations to Mae Coffman of Olpe for placing first in the District Two Patriot's Pen essay contest!

Olpe teenager wins VFW Department of Kansas - District 2 Patriot's Pen essay contest. Mae Coffman, USD 252, seventh grade was a winner at the local VFW Vernon H Buck Post 7957 competition held last month.
By claiming first place in the District Two completion, Mae will be entered in the Kansas VFW Patriot's Pen contest.
Her 2024-225 essay theme was: "MY VOICE IN AMERICA'S DEMOCRACY?"

They don’t call us Disc Golf Disneyland for nothing! When you're off the roads and courses and ready kick back, Emporia has over two dozen locally-grown eateries. From burgers and BBQ to Mexican and Asian to wood-fired, brick-oven pizza, there’s something to please everyone.
