Today we had the privilege to celebrate the newest students to be honored with the distinction as a Shepherd Scholar. The Shepherd University Scholars represent not only Emporia State's best students academically, but also those students who demonstrate versatility, community involvement, creativity, and commitment. Today we congratulate these twelve remarkable students, and thank the Shepherd family for the generosity that makes this possible.

Where Is Penny Prom had a great visit at the Sauder Alumni Center this morning. She made a gift to be used for University Scholarships, then was so inspired she decided she was ready to come back to school to receive a quality education from ESU. She had a chance to meet with our scholarship coordinator, Grace Bair, to learn about the many scholarships that ESU offers to students. Lastly, she got decked out in her ESU gear and is ready to start her educational adventure. Penny Prom left with a great big “STINGERS UP and GO HORNETS!”
