Traveling around Germany, there's so many hidden gem towns that are just as fun to explore as the major metropolitan areas, if not more! Günzburg is definitely one of those spots. Just a few blocks in any direction from the center of town, and you've already reached the town limit, but within the walls, there is a lot of quaint old world charm. Even these small places burst into life on the weekends and evenings in summer with restaurants and cafes around every corner. And, Legoland is just a 10 minute bus ride away!

Deep into the Alps for an outing in Schönau at the Königssee. Taking a 20 minute boatride, you are treat to an echoed trumpet concert, then arrove at the famous St Bartholomä Church. There's a small aection of beach which is a nice swimming point for kids. Then it's off into the woods, where amatuers and professionals alike find solace in the natural beauty of the forest surroundings. The Eisbach is so crystal clear that you can dip your bottle in and drink! In fact, i suggest it!

Despite train delays and a tad bit of rain, we had a great journey to .castle for my daughter's birthday. Here are some views, which even the rainy ones turned out nicely. Sorry, there are no shots from within. You can't take pictures in the castle, and I don't want to break the king's rules!!

Some shots of the beautiful little town of Bacharach on the Rhine. The Rhine is full of charming towns guarded by castles, and Bacharach is on that list. It has much of its historic city wall with several surviving towers leading up to Burg Stahleck, the fortress above the town. Beautifully preserved houses line the streets and overlook the Rhine as it flows by. Above the town church stands the ruins of a chapel completes in 1420 destroyed during the 30 years war.

June was a wild month! Back to back groups, first students (shown here in Dresden) and members of the German Cultural Society of Erie (shown here I Tübingen). They shared some of the same spots, but each had their own unique elements built into the trips. Cheers to these wonderful folks!!

Sometimes I get to experience new places at the same times as my groups. These shots were from which I have been trying to visit for years! Lindau is a town situated on an island, so every corner has views of Lake Constance and within the city, there's beautiful Bavarian charm galore! Can't wait until I can post more than 10 pictures at a time!!

A fun day exploring different periods of history in Regensburg! There's a lot to see here, some of which are remnants left over by the Romans. The city proudly displays it's Roman roots alongside it's Franconian flair and obvious Italian influence. We showed up about a week after a flood, and you'd never know! We are thankful it wasn't hit hard and continues on to impress visitors every day

I received this today from and family. It's an honor to have some pictures I captured of them during our August trip make it onto the Chrismas card shared to family and friends. I am forever grateful to have spent that time in Germany with them.
