SHAKESPEARE'S FAMOUS JULIET'S HOUSE (VERONA)
When it comes to Romeo and Juliet, the first city of Verona comes to mind and this is also the place where a great love story is spilled in languages. With or without it, Romeo and Juliet have turned Verona into a sacred temple of love with their love that even affects death. Although the Italian poet Luigi also wrote the story for the first time in 1524, he owes his world renown to the famous work "Romeo and Juliet" by British writer William Shakespeare.
The story takes place in the 16th century: Capulets and Montagues are two enemy, rich and famous Italian families for years due to the blood feud between them. Romeo, son of the Montecchi, captivates at first glance to the daughter of the Capulets, at the first glance, with the help of a young priest who takes everything, he is secretly married from everyone. After the marriage, a fight takes place in the city square and things are thoroughly wrapped. So Romeo leaves the city. When the Capulets want to marry Juliet to the rich and aristocratic Paris, Juliet escapes from the house and takes the breath with Father Lawrence.
When he sees Priest Juliet's death, he gives him a medicine. This medicine will make the girl look like 42 hours dead. Juliet accepts this idea. Meanwhile, Juliet's news of death reaches Romeo. Romeo, who comes to the cellar where Juliet is put, says goodbye to tears and drinks the poison for the last time. Meanwhile, Juliet wakes up, when she sees Romeo dead, she wants to drink the rest of the poison, but when she realizes that she is left, she sticks a dagger in her heart and falls on Romeo's dead body.
The house where Verona and Juliet live is visited by young, old, married single, child from all over the world and hosts the marriage proposal and honeymoon of thousands of couples every year. Lovers who visit the garden of the house believe that their relationship will never end and become immortal by writing and hanging their names. There is also a statue of Juliet in the garden, it is believed that holding the right chest of the statue will bring luck. Capuletler's house, which dates back to the 13th century, has gained its present appearance with the restoration work made by the municipality in 1905.
