Merry Christmas everyone! A little known fact - our beautiful lake has ties to Christmas! Joel Poinsett discovered Lake Poinsett in 1838. Ten years earlier in 1828 he brought the poinsettia to the United States from Mexico thinking it seemed perfect for Christmas. The Pointsettia was name after him and so was the lake! The rest is history. 😊⛄🎄🎅🤶
