Heathen Creek Outfitters is closed. Looking at greener pastures. Thanks everyone for coming on tours with me, I've had a blast and I couldn't have done it without people curious to see what a private tour looks like. Many thanks to the hotel staff for selling my tours.

I will continue to deliver private tours next year, just not in Estes Park, and not in RMNP.

Somatic experiences are the future of ecotourism. They're making National Parks for the purpose of Forest Bathing in other nations, I'm the only one offering it in an American National Park.

I can't practice delivering somatic experiences if I don't have any guests to practice with. I do offer Forest Bathing sessions for free for friends and locals. F.O. Stanley knew it was the future in the 20s, that's why he built the hotel here, for using the healing properties of the forest to heal yourself. A facilitated experience helps get you that much deeper into the healing process.

I invite you to follow along for updates of my movements, and to come out next year for more beautiful exploration.

I'm exploring backpacking trips, better four-wheeling, cryptids, hot springs, as well as sound and forest bathing. My dog will be able to come to work with me!

Visit Estes Park has proven in a short time that their service matters. Heathen Creek Outfitters participated in the Round table discussion about raising the lodging tax. The working people of Estes Park have expressed the need for Day Care and Affordable Workers Housing. I've seen lots of classy hard workers in the past few years get driven out by the living conditions, and we are at risk of losing these talented people. Heathen Creek Outfitters says vote yes on the lodging tax increase.

Time to be bear aware! Bears are entering "Hyperphagia" and trying to eat 20,000 calories a day to load up before winter. They'll open car and house doors to find your food, and they tend to go p**p in those places as well. This is a young bear walked 100 feet from the house I live in.

Do not leave food in your car.
Do lock your doors.
Door handles are made differently: The old round style on your house is hard for them, the new lever handles are much easier. Same goes for cars. Jeeps require you to use your thumb to press a button to open the door, but most handles are very simple and require only your flat hand.

Last year I think 28 cars were opened in a single night on Fall River Rd.

The tree has decided that the deer are not the subject of the photo. Did you know that a tree of this stature is worth provides value to your land by just existing? American Forestry Foundation found that a single tree provides $73 worth of air conditioning, $75 worth of erosion control, $75 worth of wildlife shelter, and $50 worth of air pollution reduction. Compounding this total of $273 for fifty years at 5% interest results in a tree value of $57,151. I've seen Indigo Buntings, Pine Grosbeaks, Pigmy Nuthatches and an Aberts Squirrel in this tree from one time to another. It's about 20 feet from my desk.

Every time you take a tour with Heathen Creek Outfitters trees get planted to sequester the carbon the Jeep produces. This is done through a program called Terrapass, part of a worldwide initiative to help fight against Climate Change.

You might see some similarities in our outfits.

Indiana Jones was inspired as a Boy Scout (played by River Phoenix) by stealing Cortez's cross from another Archaeologist, and subsequently the archaeologists horse. Indy became a bomber pilot in World War II, and that's why he wears the wilted combat boots, brown pants, white shirt and a bomber jacket. Of course he brings some class on adventures by packing a black skinny tie and felt fedora.

The scar on Ford's chin was explained in the movies by Indy obtaining a bull whip, and accidentally hitting himself in the face with it.

Can you remember a specific tree from your child hood? What memories do you have of it?

Mine is a Japanese Maple in the front yard that was bright red. I remember being stuck in it, not wanting to call for help, and the Mayor walked by and told me a good life lesson: Don't climb up without thinking about climbing back down. Thank you sir, and thank you tree. I remember the conversation when I am exploring.

Incorporate Forest Bathing as part of any jeep tour, day hike, or picnic, no extra charge. I want to introduce to you this experience because it personalizes our relationship with nature, and it's accessible to everyone.

Forest Bathing is about feeling your natural self without expectations, so I avoid bringing conspicuous hippy stuff into it, because that's not who I am. The forest has many things to offer this time of year, and it is pleasant to take your shoes off and wander.

An excellent hike up to Black Lake today. As windy as it is the temperature was warm. The trail is slick and I recommend using microspikes on your shoes for better traction.

The ice is not good on Black Lake, I've heard reports of folks ice skating on some of the other lakes, but I broke through. Always bring extra socks and mittens!

Here's a little update because things have slowed down. Thank you guys so much for your support.

-I'm available for tours in the mornings; Mondays and Tuesdays I'm free for some big hikes. I'd say the weather takes a dramatic change around 10,000', it's been windy and snowy!!!!

-I've gone Carbon Neutral, taking personal responsibility for the pollution I create.
