Shop over 275 herbs and spices, 70 varieties of tea, 140 essential oils and hydrosols, and a plethora of herbal tinctures, artisan salts, culinary oils, natural skin care products, soap making supplies, and so much more for your health and harmony. We are excited to offer local pickups, easy returns, and we will be open weekends for our Mercantile customers. We always put people, plants, and planet over profit. One of the ways we make this mission a reality is to support local organizations that work to protect Oregon’s ecosystems. Each time you bring your own shopping bag, we will make a donation to one of the nonprofit partners of your choice! When you support us, we support them. Our store is located in the Farmers' Union Marketplace, a collection of buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The Marketplace only accepts businesses with a sustainability focus, and we are honored to join this community of like-minded shops in Eugene! This December, support our local animal shelter by stopping by the Mercantile to select an ornament from our Giving Tree. Each ornament represents a specific item the shelter animals need-whether it’s toys, food, or pet accessories. 🐶🐱🐰

Simply pick an ornament, purchase the item, and return it to the Mercantile by the end of the month. Your generosity will help make the holidays brighter for these sweet puppies, kitties, and bunnies as they wait for their forever homes.❤️

The Buy Nothing Movement arose in protest of mass consumerism and the throw-away culture that accompanies it. The biggest shopping day of the year—the day after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday—has become the movement’s international day of protest: Buy Nothing Day.

The Buy Nothing Movement has been growing since 1992 as overconsumption is using natural resources faster than we can replace them, putting our planet in real jeopardy.

This year, we encourage the community to reflect on purchasing decisions and to keep the planet in mind with each choice you make. We hope you will consider supporting small local businesses, especially those making positive environmental impacts.

Jessica Carew Kraft is a naturalist, cultural anthropologist, and author and has been published in many major publications including The New York Times, The Atlantic, Forbes, KQED, Christian Science Monitor, ARTNews, YOGA Magazine, NBC News online. Now she is joining us in Green Eugene as part of her book tour.

"Why We Need To Be Wild" is a book that shares the story of a woman's quest to find ancient answers to modern problems. Jessica will be at the Mountain Rose Herbs Mercantile Eugene on Sunday, 11/24 from 2-4 for a meet and greet and will be signing her book (with her homemade feather quill and oak gaul ink, of course)
