Last weekend we heard and got a glimpse of our local resident moose and I believe her yearling in the driveway while we were out by the fire. Just 75 feet or so away. (It was dark and the flood light just allowed a glimpse) we we showed up this weekend and it looks as though she was looking in the kitchen window looking for snacks 😀

Still lots of snow north of Carabassett. Reports last weekend were that the skiing was great and we heard sleds in the back country behind overlook. Bigelow Overlook is available the next two weeks if your looking for a getaway.

Look at this gorgeous sunrise 🌄😍

Sunrise 🌄 over Flagstaff Lake 🏞 and the lost underwater town of Flagstaff as seen from Eustis ⛰ Maine 🌲 on the hazy Tuesday morning of April 11, 2023 at 6:15 AM. A lot of the haze seems to be caused by the suddenly warm temperatures melting and evaporating the snow and ice that remains glacier-like this year on the lake and in the woods.

On the right, the distant bit of Flagstaff Lake is where the underwater town of Dead River is. The underwater town of Bigelow is on the right in the foreground part of the lake just outside of the image.

The sun is directly over Blanchard Mountain.

Flagstaff Mountain 🏞 is on the left, with the north section of Flagstaff Lake (formerly Flagstaff Pond) at its base on the south west side seen in the photograph, and hidden Spring Lake on its southeast side.

- located 20 minutes beyond the access road to Sugarloaf mountain.
- has 4 bedrooms. 3 bedrooms with one queen size bed in each. 1 bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds. Comfortably sleeps 10.
- 2 full bathrooms.
- coffee bar.
- full kitchen.
- dining area.
- hot tub outside on the patio.
Bigelow Overlook is a brand new home and features views of the Bigelow mountain range.
