Another year enjoying all the good treats at the wine and food festival, one of our favorite times to visit Disney! This year we kicked off our week at the Polite Pig (first visit) and it did not disappoint! We got the butcher board and liked everything on it! Will definitely be adding this as a favorite! Our big surprise this year from the festival was from India…. The potato pea samosa, really didn’t have high expectations for it but decided we’d try it and so glad we did! We enjoyed so much yumminess on this trip can’t wait until next year! Looking to plan a Magical Vacay to Disney I can help!!😊

Well as the saying goes “all good things must come to an end” it’s our 4th and final day emersed in all the Magic!! No doubt these Disney trips for just us during wine and food are so different than the fun filled trips with our family but literally still amongst our favorite travel destinations! This is truly the one place no matter how much work we have to do or are doing while here that we can feel like our more youthful selves! Haha!😂 You are as old as you feel right and we’ve been feeling pretty 25ish here at Disney as always! Even if you aren’t a thrill seeker I encourage you to take the trip it really is a full on experience unlike any other…..one where you always leave wanting to plan the next! So let me start by saying I’m not a big cruise person and it’s been several years since I’ve cruised but I am always up for a trip 🙌🏼 and just came off Carnival Freedom with a group and had an AMAZING time! Now I get all kinds of questions about all kinds of trips and specifically about cruises so if you ask me if there are going to be lots of kids and if the ships are super crowded I’d say yes depending on the time you travel, summer YES but does it bother me, no. I think it’s important to manage your expectations before doing any vacation especially cruises where you spend most of your time on a ship with thousands of people. We felt this ship was nice, we had a balcony room that the bathroom could use some updating but overall we were comfortable. The shows we saw were super entertaining and the food in my opinion was really good, better than I expected based on the mixed reviews I’ve been hearing from direct Carnival Freedom travelers. We opted to do the steakhouse one night at an additional fee, it was definitely worth it! We actually wish we would’ve done the steakhouse every night, the food was significantly better, service outstanding and the dining room was gorgeous! 👍🏼 On to the ports- We’ve been to Nassau a few times but it’s been forever ago…… it’s changed a lot since the last time we were there. We typically go to Atlantis to do the water park but opted for a beach day instead which we were glad seeings how there were 5 additional ships at port that day. 🫣 We went to “cabbage” beach I’m pretty sure that’s what the driver called it which was gorgeous! There are tons of shops and restaurants in walking distance along with many many excursion options. Now I’ve never stopped in Bimini but this location was fantastic, not over commercialized with many gorgeous beaches with a very laid back feel! We chartered a boat for a 4 hour tour on this day which included snorkeling a super cool ship wreck, feeding stingray, reef shark snorkeling and a little fishing. After finishing our tour we stopped off at Radio Beach for some lunch at a local spot which was SOOO good and played at the beach a while which again the beach was GORGEOUS …… literally a great port day! Overall we thought this short 4 day cruise with 2 port stops on Carnival Freedom was not only affordable but a really good experience. 🛳️😁

ALOHA🌴 let’s recap Oahu…..

Over 15 hrs of travel time from the east coast but man was it worth it! No matter where you are on this island there is definitely something gorgeous to see, something great to eat and the Mai Tai’s were plentiful! 🤩🌴🍹🌊✈️

Our trip consisted of 10 nights total which included 2 overnight travel days and 8 nights on the island doing a split stay- Waikiki Beach, Hilton Hawaiian Village first then moving over to Ko Olina, Disney’s Aulani Resort for the back half of our stay. Both resorts were amazing, no complaints about either! Both locations being in completely different areas may dictate if you’d prefer one over the other. For us we had many activities planned throughout the week and wanted to experience both areas and glad we did! One question that seems to torment so many people traveling to Hawaii is, do we do the luau??? YES 💯do the Luau!! It’s costly and truthfully the food did not blow me away but the entertainment was worth it! I would’ve kicked myself had we not booked one! When traveling this far my moto is do all the things you can as if you weren’t going back!👍🏼 This trip was everything I imagined it would be, PARADISE for sure! Mahalo Hawaii until next time! 🤙🏼❤️🌴

Finishing up our first adult trip back to Disney since 2019 (pre-covid) and even though our trip started a little shaky it was so much fun!! Every couple of months we get a surge of already booked clients asking us if it’s safe to go to Mexico. We feel it’s time to make one official statement about it. Here we go. We believe Mexico is no more or less safe than any other country you might travel to for vacation. Mexico is the fifth-largest country in the Americas and the 14th largest in the world. If something happens in Mexico, it does not deem the entire country unsafe any more than if something happening in Chicago, IL making Charleston, SC unsafe. Use your judgment. Don’t leave your resort at midnight dripping in diamonds. Don’t buy drugs from anyone. Don’t assume because you’re on vacation, that bad things can’t happen. Bad things happen everywhere. At home and in paradise. If you truly don’t feel comfortable traveling to Mexico (or anywhere), please just stay home. We won’t force you to travel! But if you book a vacation and the media has a slow news day and decides to try to scare you into not exploring the world, consider the source. The US State Department website issues travel alerts and warnings about every country in the world. In October 2022, (the last official State Department advisory for Mexico) they listed Mexico at a level 3 but a lot of that is due to areas of Mexico thousands of miles from where you might go on vacation. Per the State Department website: There are no restrictions on travel in Quintana Roo state, which include tourist areas in: Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and the Riviera Maya. Keep in mind that some other counties with the same level of advisory are Jamaica, Peru, Hong Kong, China and Egypt, to name a few.

According to data from the U.S. State Department, between January 2022 and June 2022, there were 115 deaths of U.S. citizens in Mexico. The largest number of deaths in the time period was as a result of vehicle accidents. To put that in perspective, over 20M people traveled to Mexico last year. That makes the odds pretty good you’ll have an amazing vacation without issue.

Again, we won’t force you to go anywhere you don’t feel comfortable, but it would be real shame to miss out on a well deserved vacation because of the media.
